GREENLEAF Season 2 Premieres Tonight

Comments

Oprah Winfrey’s sudsy nighttime drama, GREENLEAF, kicks off tonight at 10 p.m. on OWN. The series, which focuses on the scandal-filled lives of the Greenleaf family and their large, Memphis-based mega-church, stars Keith David (Bishop James), Lynn Whitfield (Lady Mae) and daytime alums Merle Dandridge (Grace; ex-Lois, ALL MY CHILDREN) and Lamman Rucker (Jacob; ex-Garret, AMC; ex-T. Marshall, AS THE WORLD TURNS). In tonight’s premiere, the Greenleaf family struggles in the aftermath of Mac’s release; Lady Mae makes a last-ditch attempt to save the Bishop; and Basie’s announcement opens a rift between the Bishop and his son, Jacob. For those in need of a GREENLEAF catch-up, tonight’s premiere is preceded by a mini-marathon of episodes from season 1 — and for more on Rucker and what it’s like to have Oprah for a boss, check out next week’s issue of Soap Opera Digest.
