General Hospital Recap: Jax Blindsides Josslyn as Willow Falls into Jacinda’s Trap
The Friday, August 7, episode of General Hospital had Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and Hudson (Trent Lennon Appel) getting off on the wrong foot, Ava (Maura West) and Drew (Cameron Mathison) bonding over a shared enemy, Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) putting her kids in danger thanks to Jacinda (Paige Herschell), Curtis (Donnell Turner) making plans to cut Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) out of the family, and more. Under New Management
Josslyn met with Hudson — who was revealed to be the VP of Operations at Jax’s company, Jasper Jacks Enterprises — at the Metro Court Gardens. Josslyn was dumbfounded when Hudson revealed that her dad was sailing around the world and had named her JJE’s new CEO. She scoffed that she wanted nothing to do with the company. Hudson derisively asked what was keeping her too busy to run JJE and was stunned to learn that Josslyn was a WSB agent.
The two bickered, with Hudson ticked off that Josslyn had wasted his time after he’d flown all the way from Australia to see her, while Joss was annoyed that Jax hadn’t bothered to ask her if she wanted to run JJE. Before storming off, she instructed Hudson to get her a list of qualified candidates she could sign the company over to.
Ava invited Drew to meet for drinks at the Metro Court Gardens, where the pair bonded over their struggles as single parents and their hatred of Sonny. As she returned from the restroom, Ava had a frosty run-in with an angry Josslyn. Hudson picked up on it when Josslyn called the other woman by name, having heard Ethan address Ava during the bugged phone conversation.
When Ava returned to her table, she proposed that she and Drew form an alliance against Sonny.
Caffeine High
Jacinda showed Michael the restraining order that Willow put in place against her. He promised to get his lawyers to fight it, but worried that it was just Willow’s first step in using her power to come after him and take the kids.
Jacinda professed that Willow had gotten cocky and overconfident, considering she had a checkered past of her own, and declared that she had a feeling Willow was about to make a public mistake. Michael clocked the comment and demanded to know what his girlfriend had done.
Meanwhile, Willow unexpectedly got Wiley and Amelia for the afternoon and promised the kids a fun surprise once she wrapped up work. When she caught Wiley with her iced coffee, Willow chided her son for taking her caffeinated drink, then drank it herself, unaware that Jacinda had drugged it. Willow then excitedly told her kids that they were going to the arcade and grabbed her car keys, and the trio headed out from Nina’s condo.
A Path Forward
At the courthouse, Molly warned Isaiah and Portia that the defense had made the case about more than just the assault, which wouldn’t work in their favor with the jury. Curtis informed Portia that he, Jordan, and Marshall would be coming over to see Desmond and demanded that Isaiah not be present. Isaiah agreed to stay away, but Jordan privately declined to accompany Curtis, reminding him that he and Portia had agreed to keep their partners out of visits with the baby.
When Portia returned home, Stella, who’d been babysitting Des, said she hoped Portia and Curtis would find a way to cooperate. With a sigh, Portia said that cooperation had to come from both sides. Curtis and Marshall arrived, and Curtis spent a quiet moment with Des and told his son that he was fighting for their relationship. As Curtis and Portia watched Des sleeping, they agreed that no matter what had happened in court, they couldn’t let it affect their son.
Later, Curtis told Aunt Stella that once he was acquitted, he had no intentions of letting Isaiah anywhere near Desmond. At the hospital, Isaiah vented his frustration to Elizabeth and Lucas over how he lost his cool on the stand, which likely made him look vindictive to the jury. Isaiah hoped that the jury could see past his anger to the truth of the situation, noting that things would only get worse if Curtis were acquitted.
Sorry, Not Sorry
When Molly and Jordan both ended up at the Metro Court pool after the hearing, Jordan complained to Molly that she could have gone harder on her during cross-examination. Molly replied that Jordan was still family to her and said she’d wanted to try her case honorably and spare Jordan any undue harm. Jordan respected that — but still prayed that Molly lost the case.
Anna checked in with Joe at the pool about his day in court and officially welcomed Det. Fitzpatrick to the PCPD. Later, Anna reunited with Jordan. As they caught up, Jordan confided that her romantic reunion with Curtishad been complicated. She hoped they could get a fresh start and figure out who they were together this time around once the trial was behind them.
