General Hospital Recap: Rocco’s Arrested, Ric Makes Sonny An Offer, Jason Wants Answers And More
Things went from bad to worse on the November 13 episode of General Hospital when Rocco (Finn Carr) was arrested for breaking into Professor Dalton’s (Daniel Goddard) lab and had to face his dad, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), as the acting police commissioner. Meanwhile, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) tried to get Sidwell (Carlo Rota) to have the charges against Rocco dropped, Gio (Giovanni Mazza) and Emma (Braedyn Bruener) blamed themselves for their friend’s predicament, Jason (Steve Burton) brought Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) to Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) for legal advice, and after Ric (Rick Hearst) made a proposition to Sonny (Maurice Benard), his brother gave him a chance to prove he was trustworthy. Take a look at how it all went down.
A Minor Issue
Dalton burst into the hall where the mayoral debate was taking place, holding Rocco by the back of his jacket, and demanded that campus security arrest the teen. Laura blasted the professor for having his hands on her grandson, then instructed Rocco to keep his lips zipped when he tried to explain what had happened. Taking delight in the situation, Ezra went to fetch the police while Laura argued semantics with Dalton about whether Rocco had actually broken into the lab, which required a key fob to access. Then, when Ezra came back with campus security, the mayor accused the professor of overreacting and stated that she would ignore his physically assaulting a minor if he dropped the issue.
Ezra suggested the officers search Rocco for the key fob, and the teen handed over the device with shaking hands. Then, Ezra asked Dalton if his research was dangerous. The professor replied that he worked with volatile materials, and Ezra accused Rocco of possibly putting the entire campus at risk. With that, the campus police arrested the scared teen. Laura promised to follow Rocco to the station, but Ezra tried to stop her because they were already late to begin the debate. Frustrated, she told him to tell their constituents she had a family emergency and stalked off.

S.O.S.
At Bobbie’s, Britt freaked out when Charlotte and Danny told her and Jason that Rocco had been caught by Dalton after the three of them broke into the lab. Once Britt calmed down, she offered to drive Charlotte to the hospital so she could break the news about Rocco to Lulu in person. After Charlotte and Britt left, Danny relayed the whole story to his dad but avoided answering when Jason wanted to know whose idea it was.
The Blame Game
When Dante arrived at G.H. to check on Olivia and Ned, Lulu informed him that he’d just missed Chase, who had gone to work. Spotting Gio and Emma, Dante thanked his son for performing CPR on Ned and stated that he was proud of Gio for keeping his cool. Dante told Lulu to head to the university to watch her mom’s debate, but she insisted on staying at the hospital and tried to find the debate online. Meanwhile, Emma and Gio went down the corridor, and he bemoaned that he’d completely forgotten about their plan to break into the lab. Emma shared that she’d called it off with Charlotte since his grandfather’s health was more important than busting Dalton.

Arriving at the hospital with Britt, Charlotte rushed out of the elevator and told her parents that Rocco was in trouble. That caught the attention of Gio and Emma, who made their way back to the sitting area as Charlotte shared that there was a strong possibility Rocco was getting arrested. Meanwhile, Britt made a phone call, requesting that the other person meet her at the hospital immediately, and Emma told Gio she blamed herself for Rocco getting caught since she’d dragged them all into her crusade against Dalton to begin with. If Anna were in town, Emma cried, she’d make sure Rocco wasn’t punished, but Gio told his girlfriend he knew who they could go to.
In the privacy of an exam room, Britt dumped out the contents of her purse, searching for her key fob, then recalled how she’d asked Charlotte, Danny, and Rocco to go look for her bag at Bobbie’s earlier in the evening. Sidwell entered, so Britt told him about the lab break-in and insisted that he had to get Dalton to back off on having Rocco arrested. When Sidwell demanded to know how a child got access to the lab since Dalton’s research needed to be top-secret, Britt didn’t come clean about her missing key fob as she shoved her belongings back into her bag. Instead, she suggested it was better for them all if Sidwell reigned Dalton in a bit, and asked him, as someone who’d been loyal to the project far longer than Dalton had, to make the issue go away.

Officer Politics
His first day back on the job at the PCPD, Nathan sat at his old desk but realized it now belonged to his new partner, Chase. As the guys got to know one another, Nathan shared that he was glad to be back, even if his old partner was now his boss. Chase offered that he wasn’t concerned about Nathan’s memory loss since he trusted Dante and Anna’s judgment. Chase then caught Nathan up on the PCPD’s most high-profile case: Judge Heran’s murder. The detectives briefly discussed how it was a conflict of interest for both of them since Heran was the judge who had denied visitation to Willow, Chase’s ex-wife and Nathan’s niece, and Chase revealed that there wasn’t much evidence since the body had been found in the water. Their conversation was interrupted when Dante, Lulu, and Charlotte arrived looking for Rocco. Chase wasn’t aware that the teen had been arrested. Moments later, Rocco and Laura arrived, along with the two PCU campus police officers, and Dante and Lulu were upset to see their son in handcuffs.
Rocco attempted to explain himself to his father, but Dante cut him off and asked Nathan to escort Rocco into the interrogation room. Dante allowed Lulu to accompany their son since he was a minor, then thanked Laura for escorting Rocco to the PCPD. When Dante questioned where Dalton was, the PCU officer shared that they’d gotten the professor’s statement, but he’d insisted on returning to his lab. Dante asked the officer for a written report to review, then sighed to Laura that it hadn’t been the turn of events he’d expected on his first day as commissioner. Dante asked Laura to fill him in on what had happened at the college. The mayor was surprised to learn from Dante that Danny and Charlotte were also involved in the caper. Dante worried the incident would impact Laura’s bid for reelection, but she brushed it off and shared that she’d nearly gotten Dalton to drop the whole thing before Ezra Boyle butted in.

Charlotte watched through the interrogation room window as an apologetic Rocco explained what had happened to his mother. Lulu chastised Rocco, noting hat Rocco’s father was the acting police commissioner and his grandmother was the mayor, so his actions reflected back on them both. Dante was mad, she added, but they were both primarily concerned with keeping him out of jail. When Britt showed up at the station to check on Rocco, Nathan urged his sister to leave because the teen had parents to worry about him.
Determining that the charge would likely be a misdemeanor, Dante asked Chase to bring Rocco back out. As Nathan and Britt looked on, Dante informed Rocco that he was being released but would have to appear in court the next morning. Again, Rocco attempted to apologize and got upset when his father cut him off and walked away. Comforting her son, Lulu noted that Dante had to be the police commissioner, not Dad, and that they’d eventually recover from the mess-up. As Lulu made her way out of the station with her mother and kids, she was surprised to see Britt waiting for them. Britt expressed that she’d wanted to make sure Rocco was okay, and Lulu replied that although it was none of Britt’s business, everything was going to be fine. Nodding her head, Britt declared that she knew it would. After his family left, Dante debriefed with Chase and Nathan in the interrogation room, where Nathan suggested it was a good thing there was no damage to the lab, so Rocco would get off with a misdemeanor.

Keep Quiet
At Miller & Davis, Alexis was relieved to learn that Molly was off Willow’s case, so they wouldn’t have to face off in court during the trial. Molly mused that Turner didn’t want her as second chair because she wanted the glory of the high-profile case to herself, then confided that she was enjoying the peace in her life after a tumultuous year. Molly chuckled that even Alexis and Ric were getting along! Alexis subtly prodded her daughter to find out if Ric had any lasting anger about his ordeal “in the woods.” Amazed that the whole situation after his digital detox seemed to have shifted Ric’s priorities, Molly joked that perhaps the horrible experience with those crazy people ended up being a really good thing for her dad. Offering her daughter a half-smile, Alexis grew increasingly more uncomfortable with the conversation, given that it was all a lie, leading Molly to call her out on her odd behavior. Covering, Alexis claimed that she was glad Molly was spending time with her dad and just didn’t want her daughter to be disappointed by him.
After Molly left, Jason and Danny arrived, seeking Alexis’s help in the predicament with Rocco. Danny wondered if turning himself in for being there as well would help Rocco, but Alexis advised that doing that would just have both of them in trouble — and give Drew ammunition to put Danny in prison. Danny didn’t want to let Rocco take the fall, but Jason thought his son should respect the choice Rocco had made to protect him and Charlotte. Then, Jason suggested that there was something Danny could do, and asked where the teens had gotten the key fob from.

Give Peace A Chance?
Ric visited his brother with a pitch to be Sonny’s lawyer in handling Measure C. Turning him down because he already had a great attorney in Diane, Sonny quipped that he’d trust the Grim Reaper to handle his legal affairs over Ric. Undeterred, Ric suggested that Diane was compromised due to her partnership with Alexis, who wanted nothing to do with Sonny’s businesses, and the fact that Sidwell’s son, Marco, worked for the firm, but Sonny held strong that none of them had betrayed him the way Ric had repeatedly.
Ric insisted that he didn’t want the bad blood between him and Sonny to impact the relationship between their daughters, sisters Molly and Kristina. However, Sonny didn’t buy it, since he’d tried making peace with Ric numerous times in the past. Ric asserted that his recent life-altering experience had given him a new perspective and claimed he could make a case against eminent domain so Sonny could retain his piers. Ric suggested he could handle some of Sonny’s other legal needs if he was successful, but even if it was just a one-off job, he wanted to put the past behind them for their late mother’s sake. Asking his brother to think it over, Ric exited, leaving Sonny torn about whether he should trust his brother and bury the proverbial hatchet.

Later, Sonny got a visit from Gio and Emma, who wanted his help with Rocco. Unloading the entire story, Emma told Sonny about her past with Dalton at her previous school and how she’d followed him to Port Charles. When she tried to take all the blame on herself for the plan to break into the lab, Gio informed his grandfather that they’d been in on the scheme together. Sonny advised Gio and Emma against going to the police since, unlike Rocco, they were adults, so the consequences would be worse for them, and instructed them to let the lawyers handle it.
After leaving Sonny’s, Ric went to Bobbie’s and ran into Molly, who was working on her book. Happy with the progress she’d been making after a rough start on the manuscript, Molly revealed that Cody’s rescue of Ric had inspired her to make some changes to her story’s hero, and it all started clicking into place. Ric then got a phone call from Sonny. As Gio and Emma stood behind him, Sonny offered Ric a way to prove himself.

Loose Cannon
Summoning Dalton to the hospital, Sidwell reprimanded the professor for nearly exposing their project. Dalton vowed to have Rocco punished, but Sidwell demanded he drop the matter, so it didn’t draw police attention to the lab. Refusing, Dalton professed that after the way the mayor humiliated him, he was going to make sure her grandson paid.
Do you think that Rocco will get off easy after his arrest? Will the incident ruin Laura’s chances of being reelected as mayor of Port Charles? Does Ric have an ulterior motive in wanting to be Sonny’s lawyer? Drop your theories and predictions about GH in the comments below!
