General Hospital Recap: Nina Jabs Brennan with Drew’s Meds, Dante Realizes Rocco Shot Cullum
The Friday, May 8, episode of General Hospital was a doozy! Confident that Ric (Rick Hearst) was in cahoots with Ava (Maura West) to betray him, Sonny (Maurice Benard) confronted his brother with Ethan (Nathan Dean) as backup; Lulu (Alexa Havins) ended things with “Nathan” (Ryan Paevey); Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) pieced together that Rocco (Finn Carr) likely shot Cullum (Andrew Hawkes); Carly (Laura Wright) updated Lucas (Van Hansis) on her relationship status; and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) and Jack’s (Chris McKenna) confrontation turned lethal when Nina (Cynthia Watros) tried to stop the brawl — and possibly ended up bringing Drew (Cameron Mathison) out of his immobile state! Keep on reading for all the details.
Brothers At Arms
Ethan reported to Sonny that Ric had met with Ava alone at her gallery. Since Ava was aligned with Sidwell, the news led an angry Sonny to suspect that his brother was out to get him. Sonny decided to confront Ric. Over at the gallery, Ric and Ava bickered about their muddy past as they waited for the other party to arrive so Ric could complete his transaction. She pointed out that Sonny wouldn’t be happy about them working together, but Ric insisted he had to do what was necessary. After Ric finished his business with the mysterious seller, he handed Ava her commission just as Sonny and Ethan arrived. Pulling a gun on his brother, Sonny accused Ric of betraying him, seething that it would be the last time that happened.

Cut Off
“Nathan” again urged Lulu to send Rocco away, ASAP, informing her that Cullum was out of the hospital and bound to investigate who Jason was protecting. “Nathan” stressed that if Cullum connected Rocco to Britt, he’d kill him. An irate Lulu refused to send her son away based on hypotheticals, so “Nathan” suggested she and Rocco visit Kevin and Ace in Ireland. Lulu shot that idea down, too. Nathan” accused Lulu of failing to grasp how dangerous the situation was, insisting that all he was trying to do was protect Rocco. Lulu stood her ground, saying that sending her son away would destroy him. Ultimately, the strain proved to be too much for the new couple, and Lulu told “Nathan” he could consider himself removed from the situation, effectively ending their relationship.

Blood Bath
Dante called Elizabeth to his office to tell her that, based on the test results, it was not Cullum’s blood on the gun. He asked her to help him work through his scattered thoughts about who else could have handled the weapon. Dante noted that Jason getting a slide bite from the pistol was a rookie injury, which made him think that Morgan was covering for someone else.
Elizabeth then shared that she’d treated Rocco that night for a “knife cut” — but his injury was consistent with a slide bite. They realized there was a good chance Jason had taken the fall for Rocco because he was Sonny’s grandson and Danny’s brother. Dante couldn’t grasp why his son would have shot a WSB agent and blamed himself for having failed to protect his son or help him navigate the immense guilt he was shouldering alone over being the reason Danny’s father had been taken away. Catching Elizabeth’s grimace, Dante realized that Britt must know the truth — and so must Lulu. Dante was stunned to think his ex-wife had been lying to him about something so important regarding their son.

Rumor Has It
Carly was perturbed that Valentin wrangled Nina, whom she didn’t trust, into his plan to force Jack to reveal where Josslyn was. Apologizing for not realizing sooner that Jack would use Carly’s daughter to retaliate against her, Valentin grabbed his gun and vowed to Carly that he would make things right.
Carly then headed to Café Cherie, where Felicia and Lucas had been catching up about how he was handling his grief over Marco. Carly announced that she and Jack had broken up. Referencing her former husband, Frisco Jones, Felicia told Carly that she knew from personal experience that it was impossible to build a real life with someone whose first allegiance was to the WSB.

After Felicia left, Lucas wanted to know if Carly and Jack had broken up because he’d discovered she was cheating. Carly accused her brother of exposing her affair. Insulted, Lucas professed he’d never do that, especially since he had been concerned about what Jack might do when he found out. Carly demanded to know how Josslyn had found out, but Lucas didn’t cop to having told her. Because Joss didn’t approve of her relationship with Jack, Carly wondered if Joss had figured out that she had been seeing someone else and spilled to Jack, hoping they would break up. Lucas advised her to speak with Josslyn. Carly agreed, declaring that she needed to find her daughter and make things right.
Needle Point
On Valentin’s orders, Nina invited Jack over to Willow’s house. Parking Drew in the bedroom, she went to administer his next dose of medication and realized that she’d left the syringe in the living room. After grabbing the needle, a frantic Nina begged Drew not to stare at her as she injected him. However, before she could do so, the doorbell rang.
Racing back to the living room, Nina realized she still had the syringe in her hand and stashed it under a toy truck on the bookcase. Then, she opened the door for Jack, who assumed she had information about Valentin. When she instead brought up his arrangement with Willow, a testy Jack warned Nina that she should be worrying about their arrangement.

As Drew listened from the bedroom, an increasingly hysterical Nina asked for an update on any evidence against Drew, but Jack hesitated to give her details. Not wanting to alert Cullum to their arrangement, Jack said that he’d make a move when the scrutiny from his boss let up, and until then, Nina and Willow had to be patient. With no leverage yet against Drew, Nina desperately tried to get Jack to leave before Valentin arrived, but Valentin slinked in through the back door.
Valentin held both Nina and Jack at gunpoint. He blasted Nina for double-crossing him and Jack cursed her for luring him into a trap. Once he’d confiscated Jack’s weapon, Valentin demanded to know where he’d sent Josslyn. Jack denied having anything to do with Josslyn’s disappearance but smirked that he and Carly would need him to find her. The men then tussled over the gun, with Nina yelling at them to stop, and Drew hearing it all from down the hall. To try to break up the melee, Nina grabbed the hidden syringe and lunged at Valentin. But at the last second, the men switched positions, and she accidentally jabbed Jack instead!

Will Jack have the same “stroke” as Drew because of the medication? Will Drew finally emerge from his locked-in syndrome? What will Dante do with the knowledge that Rocco shot Cullum? Let us know in the comments below what you think is going to happen next on GH!
