General Hospital’s Kristina and Molly Reunite! Kristen Vaganos Dishes Visit with Kate Mansi (Excl)
It was a mini reunion for General Hospital sisters Kate Mansi (ex-Kristina) and Kristen Vaganos (Molly) when Vaganos made a “whirlwind” trip from Los Angeles to Arizona earlier this week to see Mansi star in Proof at the Arizona Theatre Company. “I flew there and back on the same day because it was my only day off,” Vaganos tells Soap Opera Digest. “But it was totally worth it!”

Mansi and Vaganos became fast friends when they were cast as Kristina and Molly on General Hospital within a few months of each other in 2023 and have stayed close after Mansi left the show in June.
“Kate is one of the greatest gifts the show has given me,” Vaganos says. “I have a friend and a sister for life!”
So, despite her busy production schedule, Vaganos knew that making the trek to Arizona to see Mansi’s performance was an absolute must. “Kate and I have talked a lot about this show and I know how much it means to her,” explains Vaganos. “I was there when she was auditioning and when she found out she’d booked it, and there’s no way I was going to miss it!”
Vaganos parked her car at LAX, hopped on her early morning flight and landed in Phoenix in time to attend Proof‘s matinee performance. “Kate’s mom was there, too, and her dog, Stanley,” smiles Vaganos. “It was so great to see them, and I hadn’t seen Kate in person in a while, either, so that was wonderful. I saw her for lunch before she started rehearsal, but since then, it’s just been keeping in touch with phone calls.”
The actress gives Mansi’s “incredibly, emotionally connected” work in the show, which wraps its run on Sunday, a rave review. “Kate was so grounded and truthful, never pushing,” she says. “Her performance was really tender and smart and beautiful. I’m so proud of her!”
I said to her, ‘I know you so well and I know all your mannerisms, and it was so interesting to see you channel such a totally different character.'”
Because Vaganos was due back at GH to film the next day, the actresses had little time to savor their reunion post-show before Mansi drove her back to the airport to catch her return flight to Los Angeles. But before that, they had the chance to make a GH fan’s day.
Recalls Vaganos, “In the lobby of the theater, there’s a step and repeat [with the theater’s logo] and Kate was like, ‘We have to get a picture!’ So we got a picture together, and then someone came up to her and told her how much she loves General Hospital and Kate said, ‘Oh, then you’ll love to meet my sister!’ She pointed at me and the woman was like, ‘Oh, my God, Molly!’ The three of us took a picture together and it was really cute.”
