General Hospital Recap: Lulu and Nathan Make Love, Marco Gets Busted and More

Comments

On the Wednesday, March 18 episode of General Hospital, several Port Charles couples had some major moments. Lulu (Alexa Havins) and Nathan’s (Ryan Paevey) first official date didn’t go as they’d planned, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) decided to give Ric (Rick Hearst) another chance, Lucas (Van Hansis) and Marco (Adrian Anchondo) made plans for their future, and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase (Josh Swickard) came to a huge decision about starting their family. Meanwhile, Jason (Steve Burton) sat down with Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) for a tough conversation, a frustrated Brad (Parry Shen) ditched Britt (Kelly Thiebaud), and Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) received conflicting information. Keep on reading to see how it all played out.

Date Disaster

Lulu had to abandon her plans for a romantic dinner with Nathan at her house when James needed to tag along, and various disasters ensued: the little boy spilled wine, got her phone wet, and Lulu burned the chicken. Pivoting, the trio went out to the pizza arcade. Later, after they’d dropped James off with Mac and Felicia, Nathan brought Lulu back to her house. Even though their evening didn’t go according to plan, they both agreed that they had a nice night, so Lulu was confused when Nathan thanked her for not bailing on him, kissed her on the cheek, and then left. Disappointed, Lulu began to walk up the stairs, but then turned around and raced over to the door, throwing it open to find Nathan on the other side. Entering her house, Nathan picked her up, bridal-style, and carried her upstairs.

Under Lock & Key

At Wyndemere, Marco opened the safe to get Britt’s medication and found that the drugs were missing. Cullum then entered Sidwell’s study with the box of medication, having restocked the supply. Covering his tracks, Marco said he thought it was his turn to give Britt her injection. When Cullum noted that it was Pascal’s day, Marco feigned confusion over the schedule and shrugged that he must have misunderstood. Cullum reiterated the importance of clear communication, since the medication was their only leverage over Britt. Changing the subject, Marco asked if Cullum had given any more thought to his request about Sonny, and the WSB director replied that they would revisit that topic once they had completed the cold fusion prototype. Declaring that he didn’t know how much longer he could wait for it all to be over, Marco stalked out. Later, Cullum phoned Pascal and informed the butler that he and Marco needed to get on the same page in administering Britt’s medication, only for Pascal to confirm that they’d spoken about it that afternoon — contradicting what Marco had told Cullum.

A Fresh Start

Ric asked Liz if she saw a future for them together, but before she could answer, Lucas entered the Port Charles Grill. Making an excuse to speak with Lucas about work, Liz pulled him over to the bar. There, she shared her concerns about Ric working with Sonny, then asked for Lucas’s opinion on whether she should take her chances on giving things another go with her ex. Even though he had reservations about Ric, Lucas sighed that he’d taken a leap of faith when it came to Marco, so Liz should, too, if she truly thought he was worth the risk.

Returning to her table, Liz confessed that she and Lucas hadn’t actually spoken about work, prompting Ric to wonder if Lucas had given her reasons why reuniting was a bad idea. Defeated, Ric stood to leave, but Elizabeth told him to sit back down, then told him she wanted to see where their relationship went. When she suggested they learn from their past mistakes and trust one another this time around, Ric decided to tell her that there was no digital detox, but he had been caught up in a sticky situation with Alexis and Ava.

Cutting him off, Liz wanted to know if the issue was behind them, and when Ric said that they’d all moved on, she stated that unless it interfered with their relationship, she didn’t need to know. Next, Elizabeth asked Ric not to put her on a pedestal, not wanting to put pressure on their relationship, because she liked how easy things had been going between them recently. After playfully shaking on it, Ric and Elizabeth sealed their reunion with a kiss.

Across the restaurant, Marco apologized to Lucas for not being able to get Britt’s medication, and Lucas shared his concerns that since both Sidwell and Cullum had now caught Marco in the safe, they’d know Marco had betrayed them when Britt disappeared. Then, they discussed their complicated relationships with their fathers, with Marco sighing that he hated the thought of losing his dad after all was said and done. Marco also noted that he’d allowed his hatred for Sonny to take him to a very dark place, but Lucas was now the most important thing to him. On their way out, Lucas showed his boyfriend the listing for a house he’d found for them, and they agreed that they couldn’t wait to start their life together once the mess with Marco’s dad and Britt was over.

Sorry, Not Sorry

Over drinks with Brad at the Brown Dog Bar, Britt told her bestie that she was leaving town to avoid completing the prototype. Brad asked what she was going to do about her medication, and was shocked to hear that, from inside Wyndemere, Lucas and Marco were trying to get her a dose that she could have reverse engineered. Brad also couldn’t believe that Britt had lied to him about her fake breakup with Jason, who was actually going to help her duplicate the medication. When Brad warned her that Jason would only help her up to the minute she had to leave town, Britt sheepishly told him that Jason was going with her. Although Brad appreciated her being upfront about leaving town, he was mad that she couldn’t stay away from Jason, no matter how many times the guy had hurt her. Pointing out that Jason was risking his life to go on the run with her, Britt insisted that she was now his priority (and not Carly), but a skeptical Brad felt she was setting herself up to fall. Once it became clear that Britt wasn’t going to change her mind about relying on Jason, Brad huffed that he couldn’t pretend to support her making another colossal mistake and stormed out of the bar.

Baby Steps

Returning home after visiting with baby Phoebe at the NICU, Brook Lynn asked her husband if the PCPD had had any luck finding Delilah’s family. Chase updated her that Dante had a lead, but if nothing panned out before Phoebe was well enough to be released from the hospital, the baby would go to a foster home. The couple decided to apply to be the baby’s foster parents until Delilah’s family could be found.

The Kids Are Alright

Downstairs in the Quartermaine kitchen, Danny told Jason that Willow had lifted the restraining order, but Scout had moved back into Drew’s house, so he’d see his sister when she visited their grandmother’s house. Then, Jason told his son he had to leave town for a while and had arranged for Alexis to be his guardian, along with some assistance from Tracy, Michael, and Carly. At first, Danny was upset that his dad couldn’t share any details and they’d have no contact, but when Jason explained that someone needed his help and there was no other option, Danny declared that his mom would have wanted him to help.

Jason told Danny how proud he was of the person he was becoming and how much he respected him. Danny tried to get Jason to let him go with him, but Jason insisted it was too dangerous, so Danny made his father promise to come back. After sharing a late-night snack, Danny asked his dad to attend his basketball team’s final game the next day, and Jason agreed to go, earning a hug from his son.
