General Hospital Recap: Drew Implicates Willow in Crash, Charlotte Learns Rocco Shot Cullum
On General Hospital on Tuesday, June 23, Joe (Jonathan Bennett) got the answer he was looking for from Drew (Cameron Mathison) while Chase (Josh Swickard) once again protected Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), Michael (Rory Gibson) was concerned by the deal Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) struck with Lucy (Lynn Herring), Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) learned Rocco’s (Finn Carr) secret while eavesdropping on Laura (Genie Francis) and Lulu (Alexa Havins), Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) said goodbye to Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), and Ethan (Nathan Dean) jumped to Ava’s (Maura West) defense in a face-off with Sonny (Maurice Benard) over Sidwell (Carlo Rota). Keep on reading to see how it all happened.
Driving Force
As Sidwell eavesdropped from the hallway at the Cain house, Chase turned down Willow’s offer to become her chief of staff, explaining that he didn’t want to give up being a cop. Willow figured Brook Lynn was the reason behind his declining the job offer, but Chase replied it was his decision.
Det. Fitzpatrick then showed up to question Willow about the night of Jordan’s accident and was surprised to see Chase. Willow said she’d answer Joe’s questions after she checked on her husband and raced to the bedroom, where Sidwell was with Drew. She tried to get the fugitive to leave, but Sidwell declared he wasn’t going anywhere until his “more suitable accommodation” was ready.

Back in the living room, Chase wondered if Turner had sent Det. Fitzpatrick to harass Willow, grousing to Joe that the Acting D.A. was grasping at straws after unsuccessfully prosecuting Willow for attempted murder. Chase’s interest was piqued when Joe replied that he was following up on new information but he declined to share anything more with the eager patrolman. Once Willow rejoined them, Chase privately advised her not to answer Fitzpatrick’s questions without a lawyer, and Willow agreed that something felt off about Joe thinking she knew anything about Jordan’s car crash.
Meanwhile, Joe slipped into Drew’s room and asked him about Willow’s whereabouts on the night in question. Through blinking, Drew communicated to him that Willow had been on Route 91 that night and was involved in the accident. When Willow and Chase entered, Joe pretended he’d gotten turned around while looking for the restroom. After the three exited, Sidwell reemerged from his hiding spot and challenged Drew about whether Willow was actually involved in the accident or if he was framing his wife!

Meanwhile, Willow declined to directly answer any of Det. Fitzpatrick’s questions, telling him to submit the request to her office since she couldn’t remember her exact schedule the night of the accident. After Joe left, Willow profusely thanked Chase for alerting her that Joe was acting in bad faith, and Chase professed that he wasn’t going to let anyone take advantage of her again. At the same time, Joe left a message with Turner’s office, saying that he had a new lead on Jordan’s accident.
Game, Set, Match
At the Quartermaine estate, Lucy laid out what she wanted in exchange for the false statement she’d given to the PCPD implicating Willow in Jordan’s accident: a large chunk of Brook Lynn’s stock in Deception. Brook Lynn reluctantly agreed to sign over enough stock to give Lucy a bigger share in the company than Tracy has.

After Lucy left, Brook Lynn filled in Michael (who had overheard the women negotiating) about her and Lucy’s plan to insinuate that Willow was the other driver in Jordan’s accident… which would hopefully get Chase to see that Willow wasn’t a saint. Fairly certain that Brook Lynn was actually the other driver, Michael worried that drawing more attention to the accident would backfire on his cousin. He also questioned why Brook Lynn wanted to be with Chase if he was so blind to Willow’s manipulating him, suggesting it wasn’t worth taking the risk of alienating Tracy by giving her stock to Lucy. Brook Lynn shot back that she loved her husband and refused to let Willow get away with taking advantage of his good nature any longer.
Fair Warning
Dante updated Elizabeth that he and Lulu had gotten Rocco’s location, and that once they got their son away from Britt, they were going into hiding until Cullum left Port Charles and it was safe to come home. Dante confided that he was still angry with Lulu and wasn’t looking forward to being in close quarters with his ex-wife, but Liz was confident that he’d manage to keep the peace for Rocco’s sake. Dante thanked Liz for everything she had done for him and Rocco and said he hoped he could find a way to repay her.
Before taking off, Dante warned Elizabeth to keep her distance from Cullum and to take Ric with her if Cullum thought to question her about Rocco and Britt’s whereabouts. Liz teased Dante for “almost” saying something nice about Ric, and Dante shrugged that a nurse that “respect very much,” aka Liz, had vouched for Ric being a changed man.

Parting Gift
Lulu dropped Charlotte off at Laura’s house before heading out of town. Lulu told her mother that she and Dante wouldn’t be returning to Port Charles with Rocco immediately. Unaware that Charlotte was eavesdropping on their conversation, Lulu revealed that Rocco had been the one to shoot Cullum, and Jason had gone to prison to protect him. Because they were pretty sure that Cullum had pieced it together, they needed to get Rocco away from Britt before Cullum tracked the two of them down. Laura argued that Lulu should tell Charlotte the truth, but Lulu didn’t want her daughter living in constant fear as well. Without revealing what she’d overheard, Charlotte came out to say goodbye to her mom, lending Lulu her “Love” necklace to keep her safe while she was away.

Seeds of Doubt
Ethan delivered Ava to Sonny, who demanded to know where Sidwell was hiding. Ava denied having any information, insisting she only knew Jenz on a professional level as his art dealer. Ethan told Sonny he believed Ava, clearly hoping to keep her quiet about his connection to baby Phoebe. Sonny thought Ethan’s support of Ava was suspicious, considering how Ethan had previously reported that he’d seen Ava and Jenz looking quite close at the Metro Court Grill.
Ava theorized that Sidwell was long gone from Port Charles, but Sonny disagreed, certain that Sidwell wouldn’t leave town until getting revenge on him, since he wrongly believed Sonny killed Marco. Sonny threatened to withhold Ava’s access to Avery if she was protecting Sidwell, and Ava snapped that their daughter had never even met Jenz. She stormed out after hissing that Sidwell was his problem, not hers. Before Ethan followed Ava back to the car, Sonny warned him not to fall prey to Ava’s manipulations and get in over his head with her. Sonny ordered Ethan to join the search for Sidwell after he drove Ava home.
