General Hospital Recap: Cassius Reveals His Identity to Josslyn, Drew Realizes Kai Is on to Willow
A whole lot happened on General Hospital on Thursday, May 7. Carly (Laura Wright) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) called upon Nina (Cynthia Watros) for help, Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) made inroads in her plan to get leverage on Drew (Cameron Mathison), Cassius (Ryan Paevey) told Josslyn (Eden McCoy) who he really was, Sonny (Maurice Benard) sought advice from Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), Cody (Josh Kelly) and Molly (Kristen Vaganos) were suspicious of Ric’s (Rick Hearst) dealings with Ava (Maura West), Trina (Tabyana Ali) asked a favor of Gio (Giovanni Mazza), Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) reached an understanding with Emma (Braedyn Bruener), and Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) took over Jack’s (Chris McKenna) position! Get the rundown below.
Fair Warning
Carly wanted to tell Josslyn about the blowup she had with Jack but was unable to reach her. As she and Valentin tried to determine how Jack knew Carly was cheating on him, Valentin mused that Josslyn was likely the one who had told him. Carly left to track Josslyn down, and when she couldn’t find her daughter at her apartment, she went to the Jerome Gallery to speak with Trina. Carly was concerned that Trina hadn’t seen Joss since the night before, but Trina figured she had pulled an all-nighter studying for finals.
Returning home, Carly updated Valentin, who wondered if Jack might have sent Josslyn out of town on an assignment to punish Carly. When Carly declared that they had to find out where Josslyn was and force Jack to bring her home, Valentin said he knew a way to do that — but warned that she wouldn’t like it.
Sticking Point
Willow told Drew that she’d stop drugging him as soon as she was sure he wouldn’t be able to retaliate. Nina came over, and Willow asked her to stay with Drew while she attended a meeting. She also wanted Nina to move Drew into the bedroom before Kai came over, prompting Nina to question if it would be better to let Kai go since he knew Willow had shot Drew. As Drew’s eyes registered shock at that information, Willow shot down Nina’s idea. Kai dropped off his report on the appropriations committee, and Willow realized she’d have to sway more votes to secure more funding for the WSB. Before he left, Kai asked to say hi to Drew, but Willow made up an excuse to prevent that.
Later, Willow told Nina about her deal with Brennan to secure more funding for the WSB in exchange for his help in getting her leverage over Drew, but Nina didn’t think that was a wise move. Willow then asked Nina to give Drew a shot. Nina brought Drew back to the living room and apologized for keeping him drugged up. But before she could administer the injection, Nina got distracted by a call from Valentin, who said he had a job for her. She placed the syringe on the coffee table.
Last Chance
Sonny stopped by Miller & Davis and told Alexis that after catching Ric in a lie, he feared his brother was going to stab him in the back again. Alexis thought Ric had been working hard to regain Sonny’s trust, and both agreed Ric seemed genuine about fixing the relationship. Because they were closer than they’d ever been, Sonny decided to give his brother the benefit of the doubt. But if Ric did go after him again, Sonny declared, there would be no going back.
Keeping Secrets
Ric joined Molly and Cody at the Metro Court Gardens. Ava approached to speak with Ric privately, which annoyed Molly. After Ric blasted his ex for interrupting his time with his daughter, Ava cryptically informed him that she’d passed along his message and “he” was willing to close the deal that night. Snarking that she was putting her neck on the line for him, Ava declared Ric better hold up his end of the bargain, and he promised he’d follow through.
Meanwhile, noticing Ric and Ava’s closeness across the restaurant, Molly worried they were reuniting. Knowing that Ava had held Ric captive, Cody assured Molly that her dad would never get back together with Ava.
Cody was at the table alone when Ric returned. He questioned Ric about Ava and Ric said that he wouldn’t be dealing with Ava if it wasn’t important. Ric responded that he wouldn’t deal with Ava if it wasn’t important. Cody said that he hadn’t told Molly about Ric’s time in Alexis’s basement and hoped Ric didn’t make him regret keeping that from her. Noting how happy Cody made Molly, Ric swore he wouldn’t do anything to mess that up. When Molly rejoined them, Ric promised his concerned daughter that Ava was nothing to worry about. Molly told Ric that Cody would be joining her on her book tour and Cody complimented Ric by noting how happy Molly was that he’d come back to town. “Please don’t screw that up,” Molly playfully warned her dad.
Twin Pique
At the hospital, Britt demanded to know how Cassius got injured. He said he’d gotten into a fight but didn’t mention that it was with Josslyn. Cassius stressed the importance of Britt completing the prototype for Faison’s cold fusion project, warning that until she did, her son (meaning Rocco) and his son (meaning James) were not safe. Britt scoffed that James was not his son and could never know Cassius’s true identity. Sighing that he’d tell James and Lulu the truth when the time was right, Cassius impressed upon his sister that Cullum and Sidwell were dangerous and would use the boys to punish them if they stepped out of line.
Later, Cassius visited Josslyn in her locked room in the bowels of Wyndemere, where she had fruitlessly been trying to escape. Still believing that Cassius was Nathan and that he’d had some sort of mental break, Joss pleaded with “Nathan” to let her help him. Cassius then revealed his true identity, explaining that his father had kept his existence a secret, and Liesl believed he’d died at birth.
Josslyn wondered how Cassius had pulled off Nathan’s return from the dead. He reported that he’d arranged to remove Nathan’s body from his grave and had also hacked the PCPD database to replace Nathan’s fingerprints with his own. Joss was livid to learn that Britt had outed her to Cassius as a WSB agent and realized that, like Britt, Cassius was working with Sidwell and Cullum.
Cassius insisted that he and Britt just wanted out and he didn’t want to have to kill Josslyn. She begged him to let her go before people started looking for her. Smirking that nobody would suspect that Nathan had anything to do with her disappearance, Cassius warned that he was Josslyn’s best shot at surviving her predicament — as long as she worked with him. Exiting the room, Cassius put his head against the door to collect himself.
Electric Youth
At the gallery, Trina asked Gio to accompany her on guitar during the showcase that Brook Lynn had set up with music execs. Gio agreed and they made a pact to stop if performing ever stopped being fun. Kai arrived to pick up Trina for baseball practice, and when Ava entered, she gave Trina the rest of the day off so she could deal with a private sale.
Emma balked when Britt subbed in for Dr. Navarro during her annual gynecological visit, but reluctantly kept the appointment. They got off to a rocky start, but when Emma mentioned her birth control gave her headaches, Britt suggested alternative options. In the end, Emma was grateful for Britt’s help with a new prescription and surprised her by saying she would see her for a follow-up, rather than Dr. Navarro.
Power Play
Cullum, who was finally released from the hospital, informed Jack that he’d be staying in Port Charles to oversee the Sidwell operation. When he instructed Jack to bring him to the office so he could examine the evidence from his shooting, Jack explained that anything from the scene belonged to the PCPD. Annoyed, Cullum called Jack incompetent for not seizing the evidence and declared that he was taking command of the Port Charles field office — making him Brennan’s new boss. Cullum demanded he hand over all his files, including a list of agents who’d been working for him.
