General Hospital Recap: Carly Demands Answers About Jason As Cullum Wakes Up

Comments

The Monday, March 30, episode of General Hospital, was full of revelations. Carly (Laura Wright) demanded answers from Jack (Chris McKenna), Cody (Josh Kelly) gained some boyfriend points with Molly (Kristen Vaganos), Kristina (Kate Mansi) gave Tracy (Jane Elliot) some unsolicited advice, Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase (Josh Swickard) had an uncomfortable conversation with Michael (Rory Gibson), Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) got support from Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) and Rocco (Finn Carr), Josslyn (Eden McCoy) empathized with Lucas (Van Hansis), and Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) regained consciousness! Here’s everything that happened.

Too Little, Too Late

At the WSB field office, Jack was on the phone, unsuccessfully trying to get Jason’s location, when Carly arrived. She didn’t believe that Jack was unaware of Jason’s whereabouts and questioned why the arrest warrant had been issued before the incident on Pier 55, and why Jason shot Cullum to begin with. Jack didn’t have answers but explained that because Dante found Jason with the gun in his hand with nobody else around, and Britt identified Jason as the shooter, Jason was the only suspect.

Realizing there had been no way for Jack to stop the WSB from taking Jason, an increasingly distraught Carly wanted to know how they could get her best friend back. Jack offered to reach out to his contacts at the WSB black sites but warned that the odds weren’t good that she’d ever see Jason again. Adding that he knew how much she was hurting, Jack said he wished he could fix the situation because he cared about her. He tried to comfort her, but Carly pushed him away, shouting that the WSB couldn’t take away the people that she loved.

Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is

Kristina arrived at the Quartermaine kitchen door to pick up some items for Danny and updated Michael on how Jason’s son was doing. They also discussed Michael and Jacinda’s encounter with Olivia in the gatehouse, and Michael told his sister that there had been a family intervention about his relationship with the former escort. When Tracy entered the kitchen, Michael exited to pack up some of Danny’s things for Kristina. Alone with Tracy, Kristina questioned why she hadn’t pushed back in support of Michael and Jacinda during the family meeting. Tracy countered that she had supported Michael, but Kristina replied that she hadn’t gotten the sense from her brother that he felt that way. She encouraged Tracy to support Michael better as he rebuilt his life, even suggesting that she go toe to toe with Olivia (the way she had with Alexis) and tell Ned’s wife to stop belittling Jacinda. “Get off the sidelines and bring your family together. Take the reins, Tracy Q,” Kristina quipped. Warning Kristina never to address her as “Tracy Q” again, Tracy wondered if Kristina always meddled in people’s lives, or if Michael and Jacinda were special.

Friends In High Places

Elsewhere in the mansion, Chase and Brook Lynn were wrapping up their meeting with the social worker when Wiley found them in the foyer. Michael’s son asked Brook Lynn what a “hooker” was since his dad and Olivia were arguing over Jacinda being one. Sarah, the social worker, took notes as Chase and Brook Lynn handled the situation with Wiley, explaining why Olivia used the mean word and that family members can get mad at one another but will make up. Sarah left shortly after, promising to be in touch once a decision about Phoebe’s placement had been made, but Brook Lynn wasn’t feeling very confident. As the couple was brainstorming potential character witnesses who could speak on their behalf, Michael entered the living room and asked how the interview with the social worker had gone. “It would have been better if you and Olivia weren’t yelling about hookers in front of your son,” sneered Brook Lynn.

Michael groused that he didn’t want his kids to know about Jacinda’s past, but appreciated Chase and Brook Lynn skipping over Wiley’s “was Jacinda a hooker” question, so that he could explain to his son himself. Apologizing for Wiley embarrassing them, Michael offered to call a G.H. board member who was the secretary for Health & Human Services and put in a good word. But then he realized that Willow, aka Congresswoman Cain, might be able to influence the social worker. “Of course! Willow would be happy to help!” chirped Chase, but Brook Lynn didn’t seem too keen on the idea.

Stay With Me

Cody excitedly told Molly that he’d won a raffle for a deep-sea fishing trip in the Cayman Islands. His vegetarian girlfriend didn’t share his enthusiasm for the vacation’s concept, so Cody suggested they could go scuba diving instead. As it turned out, the trip’s date conflicted with a procedure Molly had scheduled to treat her endometriosis. Since the vacation couldn’t be postponed, Molly offered to put off her surgery. Cody insisted that her health was more important and even convinced Molly to let him take care of her after her procedure.

The Three Musketeers

An overwhelmed Danny went to the bridge, where Rocco and Charlotte tracked him down. He confided that he’d gone there because he needed space to think, but was happy for them to keep him company. After telling his friends that he’d be staying with his grandmother, Danny asked about Rocco’s bandaged hand, then called him out for acting weird. Rocco replied that his dad had been the one to arrest Danny’s dad and hand him over to the WSB and mused that he’d be mad about that if he were in Danny’s shoes. Danny replied that he didn’t hold what happened against Rocco since Dante was only doing his job, and Charlotte piped in that the three of them were a team and couldn’t let what happened between the fathers affect their friendship. Then, Danny said that the WSB already had a warrant out for his dad’s arrest anyway, prompting Charlotte to wonder if someone else had shot Cullum and Jason was being framed.

Rocco became more and more uncomfortable as Charlotte prattled on about her theory. Danny was sure his dad had had a reason for shooting Cullum, mentioning that Jason had warned him that something big was about to happen because he was preparing to leave Port Charles. That led Rocco to ask if Jason had told Danny he was leaving town with Britt. Realizing his slip, Rocco covered that he’d heard Britt had been at Pier 55 also, and wondered if she’d been meeting Jason.

Danny said he wanted to talk to Britt to figure out how things had gone so wrong, and Charlotte offered to speak with her father again to see if he had any insight about where the WSB might have taken Jason. Rocco was surprised that Charlotte had spoken to Valentin about the situation, so she and Danny filled him in on how Valentin was going to try to help Jason escape. Danny also relayed how those final few minutes of seeing his father being carted away in the WSB van left him feeling helpless. As Rocco’s guilt ate away at him, Charlotte assured Danny that they’d find Jason and promised that she and Rocco would be there to support him.

Open Up Your Eyes

At G.H., Josslyn was looking at Cullum’s IV bag, trying to determine if Britt had successfully injected him, when the patient opened his eyes. She panicked, but when he closed them a moment later, Josslyn began putting on a latex glove. Then, Lucas walked into the room and was surprised to find his niece there. Joss quickly deflected and said that she was surprised her uncle was at work. Lucas asked Josslyn to leave so he could check on his patient, then later told a nurse that Cullum’s vitals were improving and he could soon be taken off the ventilator. Approaching Josslyn in the hallway, Lucas asked why she’d been in Cullum’s room, so she covered that she wanted to see the man Jason was accused of shooting.

Sharing her condolences about Marco, Josslyn encouraged Lucas to take a break. They discussed their shared experience of suddenly losing someone, and Lucas vowed that he would make sure Marco didn’t die in vain. Josslyn stated that she’d felt the same way after Dex passed away, but urged Lucas not to let that impulse consume him. The best way to honor Marco was to have the happy life Marco would want for him, she added, but Lucas couldn’t imagine being happy without Marco.

Next, Josslyn asked if Lucas thought Cullum would recover, saying she couldn’t imagine what would happen to Jason if the WSB director died. Then, the nurse came out of Cullum’s room and reported that the patient was waking up! As Josslyn watched through the window, Lucas took Cullum off the ventilator — then asked if he remembered who’d shot him.

Is Wiley’s innocent question going to affect Chase and Brook Lynn’s chances of fostering Phoebe? Will Cullum have any recollection of who shot him? Should Josslyn have shared her theory with Lucas that the WSB director was responsible for Marco’s death?
