TV Insider broke the casting news and shared that Hudson is a businessman with some shady ties. Viewers can look for the character to make his first appearance in the episode scheduled to air on Tuesday, July 30.
Appel has previously appeared in movies like Revenge Best Served Chilled, Blackmail, Lies and Murder, and Lethally Blonde. GH will mark the actor’s daytime debut. Appel has nothing but praise for his new castmates as he navigates the fast-paced world of daytime television, telling the outlet, “Everyone is very professional; They’re on top of every intricate part of this very established, well-oiled machine, and I’m just trying to keep up and not halt the process in any way.”
The bio on Appel’s official website shares that after a high school teacher suggested he try acting, he didn’t actually pursue it until enrolled at Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania, where he ultimately graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater and Communications with an acting concentration. Appel is also a certified personal trainer and works as a model.
Appel is just the latest in a line of recent casting announcements for GH. On June 1, it was announced that Dean Geyer had been cast as a character with the intriguing name of Tristan Roberts, who will debut on Monday, July 13. Then, the following day, Soap Opera Digest broke the news that Scout Cain was being recast with Kayden Brenna Tokarski. And on June 8, news broke that Kelly Kruger, previously Mac on Young and Restless, would be taking over the role of Serena Baldwin, previously portrayed by Carly Schroeder.
