General Hospital Comings & Goings Exclusive: Scout Cain Recast
General Hospital has recast Scout Cain, the daughter of Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and the late Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco). Soap Opera Digest has learned exclusively that Kayden Brenna Tokarski will make her Port Charles debut in the role in July. She succeeds Cosette Abinante, who has played Scout since 2022.
Scout’s Honor
Digest has also learned that the decision to recast the recurring role of Scout was made in order to age up the character, who was born on screen in February 2017. Tokarski will be taking over the role at a tender time in Scout’s storyline life, given that her dad is in a locked-in state following what appeared to be a stroke, but was actually the result of him being drugged by Scout’s stepmother, Willow (Katelyn MacMullen).
On June 1, eagle-eyed fans spotted Tokarski among other members of the cast in a video shared on GH’s official social media accounts celebrating the taping of the show’s 16,000th episode — and on social media, many even correctly guessed who she would be playing.
While Tokarski’s new role on GH marks her daytime debut, she has been acting professionally since she was 10 years old (she’s 16 now). In 2022, Tokarski played a younger version of Julia Roberts’s character, Martha, in the political thriller Gaslit on Starz. In 2024’s Lifetime’s My Professor’s Deadly Secret, she played the role of Lauren, daughter of James Hyde’s (ex-Sam Bennett, Passions; ex-Jeremy Stark, The Young and the Restless) character, John. She also appeared in Killer in the Woods for Lifetime and in the sci-fi feature Roswell Delirium opposite Anthony Michael Hall. She recently wrapped production on the neo-noir thriller Quads & the Kicker and will also be seen in the upcoming Curse of Vandor (and its sequel), which stars Dee Wallace (ex-Pat Spencer, GH).
Tokarski has also notched some impressive commercial campaigns, voicing Wednesday Addams in a national Wendy’s commercial tied to the hit Netflix series and starring opposite Joey Fatone in a national spot for Red Lobster.

The actress is not the only new face GH fans can expect to see in July; it was announced on June 1 that Dean Geyer is making his on-screen debut in the contract role of Tristan Roberts.
