Phylicia Rashad, of THE COSBY SHOW fame, has been cast on EMPIRE in the recurring role of Diana Dubois, the wealthy mother of newcomer Angelo (played by Taye Diggs), reports ew.com. Angelo is a prominent New York city councilman — and a new love interest for Cookie (Taraji P. Henson). EMPIRE premieres on Wednesday, September 21 on FOX.
