Industry News
Beyond The Gates has announced a special contest. In a press release, a show rep explained, “Enrolled students at participating historically Black colleges and universities (HBCU) in Georgia are invited to enter for a chance to win a non-speaking walk-on role on the show, which films in Atlanta.” Those eligible can enter beginning Monday, Feb. 24 (the day of the show’s hotly anticipated premiere) at 2 p.m. ET through Friday, March 21 at 11:59 p.m. ET, at a website that will be announced on the show’s official social accounts for Instagram and Tiktok (@BeyondTheGatesCBS) in the coming weeks. Those entering will have to take a brief quiz about the soap and, per a press release, “submit a video of themselves talking about what they enjoy about the show and what it would mean to them to win this potential walk-on role.” The winner will also get to experience a “Day in the Life” behind the scenes with cast, crew and a one-on-one conversation with one of the show’s executive producers. “In addition to launching a groundbreaking series, we, and CBS, wanted to offer an aspirational experience for a young adult interested in exploring all things TV. We also wanted to pay homage to HBCU’s — which have been a guiding force for students, families and communities for almost 200 years — and also thank Georgia for availing so many resources to us for the creation of Beyond The Gates,” said Executive producer Sheila Ducksworth in a statement. The soap’s executive producers will be the ones deciding the winner.
