Fans might find themselves wondering who is Carolyn Webber on General Hospital, and it’s perfectly understandable since the character has actually never appeared on the soap before! The character had been mentioned but wasn’t seen until the Oct. 31, 2022, episode when actress Denise Crosby made her debut in the role.
When Jeff Webber left Port Charles in 1981 with his son, Steven Lars, he later contacted Heather Webber asking for a divorce as he’d met someone new. He and Carolyn were married off-screen that year and they moved with Steven to Carson City, Nevada.
In 1997, Jeff and Carolyn left their two daughters, Elizabeth Webber and Sarah Webber, to live with their grandmother, Audrey while they went to Sarajevo to work with Doctors Without Borders. In 1998, Jeff reached out to Sarah to have her move to Sarajevo with him and Caroline. Over the years, Elizabeth has stated that Jeff and Carolyn were not very good parents, and she was never close to them at all.
In 2016, it was revealed that Hayden Barnes was Elizabeth’s sister from an affair that Jeff had with Naomi Dreyfus while married to Carolyn. In 2022, Elizabeth was upset when her son, Jake Webber, admitted that he had been chatting with his grandparents online. And with Liz experiencing fugue states, Hamilton Finn was concerned about her and considered contacting Jeff and Carolyn for help.
In October 2022, Liz traveled to Monterey, California, with her friend, Terry Randolph, claiming they were going to a medical conference. But Liz used Terry as a distraction to sneak into her parents’ house and look for information to explain the repressed memories causing her fugue states. Unfortunately, Jeff and Carolyn came home unexpectedly and caught her. Carolyn tried to defuse the situation but Liz blasted her parents for ditching their kids to focus on their jobs, crying that their neglect has caused her to lose pieces of her memories and her life and she wasn’t leaving until she got answers about the psst.
