Bold and Beautiful Recap For August 6: Grace Confesses the Truth and Ridge Rescues Brooke!

It was the moment of truth in the August 6 episode of Bold and Beautiful when Grace (Cassandra Creech) finally came clean to Finn (Tanner Novlan) about how she faked Liam’s (Scott Clifton) brain tumor, and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) came to Brooke’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) rescue in Naples after Nick (Jack Wagner) accidentally put their lives in danger.

The Awful Truth

Grace tearfully confessed to Finn that she had faked Liam’s brain tumor because she needed the money to pay off the extensive gambling debts accrued by her ex-husband, Reese. “So you told Liam that he had terminal brain cancer so you could save the day with some experimental treatment that cost a million dollars?” Finn shouted, outraged. He reminded her of the emotional pain and agony that she’d put Liam and his loved ones through with her lies. Grace insisted that Liam really did have a brain bleed. “That was my opening,” she admitted. “I faked a brain tumor.”

Finn was aghast to realize the horrifying lengths Grace had gone to, all to scam Bill Spencer out of a small fortune. Grace insisted that she had loan sharks threatening the lives of her daughters because Reese owed so much money. Finn angrily demanded she explain exactly how she pulled it off. Grace replied that the cranial injury had been real, and seeing that Liam had multiple concussions in his past, she took advantage of that. Finn was confused about the symptoms that Liam had been exhibiting, and Grace confessed they were the result of the medications that she’d prescribed to him. And after Liam survived being shot by Luna and Bill learned the truth about his “brain tumor,” she took advantage of the opportunity to pressure Bill into paying for his son’s experimental treatment.

Finn reminded Grace that something could have gone wrong during their fake procedure, as they were actually cutting into Liam’s head. Grace knew that what she did was unacceptable, but she was desperate. He pointed out all the pain that she’d put Liam and his family through, but she argued that now he would enjoy a long and happy life. Grace then asked Finn not to destroy her life by telling anyone about what she’d done. Finding out that he hadn’t yet shared his suspicions with anyone, she urged him to keep it that way. “Nobody needs to know,” she pleaded. “I am begging you.”

Blissful Ignorance

Resting on the couch at home, Liam wanted Hope (Annika Noelle) to stop fussing over him because he felt fine. She reminded him that he’d had a mass removed from his brain and a bullet removed from his chest, but Liam insisted that he had a new lease on life, and it was all thanks to Dr. Grace Buckingham. Hope mentioned how Beth wanted to visit her daddy again, which led the pair to reminisce about Grace’s ex-husband, Dr. Reese Buckingham. Liam complained about how doctors take an oath, and Reese broke that oath by telling them their daughter had died so he could sell her. He also marveled at how Grace was the complete opposite of her ex. “Grace truly is a saint,” Hope declared. Liam joked that Hope and everyone else were now stuck with him, and it was all thanks to Grace.

Sisterly Worry

At the Forrester mansion, Katie (Heather Tom) was stunned to learn that Nick had a ring and was planning to propose to Brooke with it. Donna (Jennifer Gareis) promised to check in with Eric later for another update because she was worried. Katie assured her that their sister could handle herself, but Donna was afraid Brooke might do something she’ll come to regret. Katie admitted that Nick was a nice guy, but agreed with Donna that Brooke and Ridge were always meant to be together.

Undying Love

In Naples, Nick was distracted by Ridge shouting at them from the shore and nearly collided with another boat because his vessel had faulty steering. As he turned sharply to avoid the crash, Brooke suddenly slid off the back of the boat and fell into the water. Horrified, Ridge immediately dove into the sea and swam to her as fast as he could. On his boat, Nick slowly regained consciousness after having been knocked out when he fell himself during the turn.

Ridge pulled Brooke up onto a rescue craft and desperately began performing CPR and giving her mouth-to-mouth. “I can’t live without you!” he shouted as he delivered the chest compressions. His words echoed in Brooke’s head as she saw a bright light and flashed back to being reunited with Ridge in Abu Dhabi after believing him dead. She then revived and looked up into Ridge’s eyes. He assured her that she was safe and everything would be okay as he stroked her face. Ridge then leaned in and gave her a passionate kiss.

As the sun set, Ridge cradled Brooke in his arms. “I almost lost you,” he whispered in her ear. “I won’t take that for granted ever again. Never again. I’ll make it right. We’ll make this right.” She looked adoringly into his eyes, and he held her tightly to him, not wanting to let her go ever again.
