“I had a great science teacher when
I was in high school. I’m a huge science freak. I’m curious when it comes to those things. He was ahead of his time. It was always fun to pick his brain and to be able to see the world a different way. It guided me to not be a
follower.”
Kristina Wagner (Felicia, GH)
“I’m a product of the Indianapolis public school system and in the time that I was there, there was an arts school opportunity that they were experimenting with. I did dance all morning and then in the afternoon and evening, I was in the theater. Our theater director and our music director gave me an opportunity that I wouldn’t otherwise have had. My first job, I got paid $100 to choreograph the big musical, and it was a big deal for me. So I give credit to the music and the theater director at Northwest High School.”

“Without
a doubt, Mr. Boles, my high school theater teacher/
director.”

“Mr. Deitz, my music teacher in high school. He was the one who convinced me to take on the role of Danny Zuko [in Grease] when that was the last thing I wanted to do. I told him I wanted to be a T-Bird in the back, behind the car in ‘Greased Lightnin’.’ He said, ‘I think you have potential in this. Just give it a try.’ He was the impetus for me finding the desire to perform in the world, and he’s a big reason why I’m where I’m at today.”
Courtney Hope (Sally, B&B)
“I have two: One was my fifth grade teacher, Ms. Willett. She was very supportive of me. She said, ‘Whenever you go to the Oscars, just make sure you get me a front row seat.’ I never forget that and one day, I will do that. Then in ninth grade, I had an English teacher named Mrs. West. She was an incredibly beautiful human being. We’re friends on Facebook and my parents have gotten to be friends with her, too.”
Brytni Sarpy (Elena, Y&R)
“Mrs. Klop in the eighth grade; she was a beautifully kind
human.”
Michelle Stafford (Phyllis, Y&R)
“My seventh grade history teacher. His name is Mr. Taylor. He probably has no idea that he made any impact because I sat in the back and really never spoke up. He had traveled the world. Every time we were taught some subject in history, he had his own story about that country and it was always the most interesting story. It made me interested in traveling. I hope there are more like him out there.”
