Helga fell to her death in Hungary after trapping Erica in a crypt.... David Canary (Adam/Stuart) received the Soap Opera Digest Award for Lead Actor. Charles Keating visited ANOTHER WORLD as Carl, and Kale Browne (Michael) and John Aprea (Lucas) left.... Jake and Paulina split, and Ryan broke his engagement to Vicky when she slept with his brother, Grant.... Carl was revealed as Ryan’s bio dad; Lucas and Felicia reunited with their grown daughter, Lorna, but Felicia was widowed when Sally shot Lucas dead.... Peggy Sloane took over as head writer, replacing Donna Swajeski. At the Digest Awards, Anne Heche (ex-Vicky/Marley) took home the Lead Actress prize, and Ricky Paull Goldin (Dean) went home with the Younger Lead Actor trophy.

and Larry, and Andy and Courtney.... Margo was raped by HIV-positive Nevins.... Kirk and Ellie’s marriage crumbled after her abortion.... Holden was amnesiac after a mugging.... Lisa reunited with her adult son, Scott.
Kimberlin Brown brought her YOUNG AND RESTLESS alter ego, Sheila, over to BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL (and Tracey E. Bregman’s Lauren popped in), while original cast members Lauren Koslow (Margo, now DAYS OF OUR LIVES’s Kate) and Daniel McVicar (Clarke) wrapped their runs.... Ridge and Taylor said, “I do”.... Brooke gave birth to Bridget, but didn’t know whether Ridge or Eric was the daddy.... Sheila became the in-house nurse at Forrester Creations.... GL’s 40th anniversary on CBS was toasted with a prime-time special…. Harley and Mallet fell in love; so did Blake and Ross, after she seduced him for revenge against Holly. He gave up his Senate seat to be with her…. Alan-Michael conned Eleni into marriage, but she got pregnant by Frank after learning of A-M’s machinations…. Nadine stashed Bridget (who was preggers by Hart) in her attic, then faked a pregnancy with the intent of passing off Bridget’s newborn as hers and Billy’s…. Mindy left Nick at the altar…. Alex and nick got confirmation that they were mother and son…. Roger shot and killed Daniel, Holly’s murderous hubby-to-be…. Ed cheated on Maureen with Lillian, who was battling breast cancer…. When James E. Reilly left to join DAYS, Stephen Demorest, Nancy Curlee and Lorraine Broderick became the show’s trio of head writers…. Maeve Kinkead (Vanessa) won the Daytime Emmy for supporting actress, and Michael Zaslow (Roger) won the Digest award for Outstanding Villain.

Alex married Carlo, who was then murdered by his niece, Stephanie; Alex trained Carlo’s twin, Mortimer, to pose as the deceased.... Josh Griffith became Michael Malone’s co-head writer.... Erika Slezak (Viki) won the Lead Actress Daytime Emmy, and Thom Christopher won for Supporting Actor for his work as Carlo.
A Martinez (now Eduardo, DAYS) quit SANTA BARBARA as Cruz joined L.A. LAW. Kim Zimmer (Jodie), Sydney Penny (B.J.), Stephen Nichols (Skyler, now Steve, DAYS) and Eric Close (Sawyer) joined the cast…. Pamela K. Long was named head writer, replacing Bridget and Jerome Dobson, but NBC canceled the show late in the year (it went off the air in January 1993)…. Mason and Julia remarried, and Gina became Mrs. Lionel Lockridge…. Cruz learned that he was B.J.’s dad and left town after a fling with Kelly.
Y&R married off Katherine and Rex, Scott and Lauren, and Victoria and Ryan.... Nikki’s reunion with Victor was derailed by her pregnancy by Jack; Vic and Jill hit the sheets for a spell.... Lauren was reunited with her son, Scotty, after Sheila copped to the baby switch. Sheila was then presumed dead (but popped up alive on B&B).... Christine filed sexual harassment charges against Michael.... Drucilla posed nude, causing problems for her and Neil.... Brad and Traci had a baby girl, Colleen, while Olivia and Nathan welcomed a son, Nate.... Peter Bergman (Jack) won the Daytime Emmy for Lead Actor, while the Younger Actor and Actress Emmys went to Kristoff St. John (Neil) and Tricia Cast (Nina), and the show won for Writing. Cast also received the Digest Award for Younger Lead Actress, and Doug Davidson (Paul) won for Supporting Actor.
