EATING FOR TWO
Kelly Kruger (ex-Mac, Y&R) reveals that while filming her upcoming holiday film, A VERY CORGI CHRISTMAS, she had to tell the wardrobe department that she was expecting. “When I started the movie I had a flat stomach, and as the movie progressed, my pants started getting tighter and tighter,” she recalls. “And every time anyone turned around, I had a grilled cheese in my hand or a mac and cheese or waffles. I remember the woman in wardrobe had to go out and buy me a bigger size jean. Every morning she would see me stuffing my face. At one point, I remember her being like, ‘Maybe we can use an elastic.’ I called [husband] Darin [Brooks, Wyatt, B&B] and I was like, ‘I feel like I need to tell her. I am really embarrassed. It’s getting really awkward.’ So I pulled her into the room and I told her and she burst into tears. I looked at her and I was like, ‘You didn’t know?’ And she said, ‘No!’ And I said, ‘What did you think?’ And she was like, ‘I don’t know, I thought you just like to eat.’ And what was so funny about it is it teaches you that sometimes when you’re insecure about something and you think everybody knows, really they don’t.”

FUNNY SEEING
YOU HERE
Lynn Herring (Lucy) recently ran into GH co-star Coby Ryan McLaughlin (Shiloh) in the most unlikely of places: her own backyard. “I had never met him; I’d just waved to him in the hall as we passed each other on our way to our dressing rooms,” she begins. “My youngest, Grady, called me and said, ‘My good friend is a singer and their music video location in Malibu fell through and I offered our house in Topanga,’ ” where Herring, who lives full-time at a ranch in Northern California, stays when she comes to Los Angeles to shoot GH. “He said, ‘I know you’re coming down to work soon; is that okay?’ I said, ‘Of course!’ So I’m literally in the kitchen getting some iced teas together in case they get thirsty during their shoot, and the crew comes down with the camera and their guitars, and coming down the steps is Shiloh! It was the most bizarre, double-take situation. Grady thought one of the members of the band had been on GENERAL HOSPITAL, but Grady forgot to tell me that! So he sees me, and he doesn’t know it’s my house, either! It was so funny.” She quickly became a fan of his band, The Cowboy Killers. “They played a couple of songs for me while they were filming and they have such a beautiful sound. I was so impressed! I spent the whole afternoon watching them film their stuff. Only in L.A. would that happen!”

THE LONELY LADY
Jennifer Gareis (Donna, B&B) is thrilled with the revitalization of the Logan family, thanks to the addition of her new TV niece Flo, but there’s one other thing she’d love to see at some point. “Well, my character does not get any play from any men,” she laughs. “I must say, I don’t think I’ve ever been celibate that long in my real-life relationships, nor would I ever want to be. Poor little Donna has not had any kind of romantic relationship for a long time. I guess she’s waiting for the right guy, but she really needs to get lucky!” Gareis has a fun theory about how that could possibly happen. “I love having Denise Richards [Shauna] on the show,” she adds. “My friends all love seeing her on REAL HOUSEWIVES OF BEVERLY HILLS, and I think our characters could be great friends. They’re both single. They should go out drinking one night and pick up some men. Can you imagine? That would be so much fun to play.”

KEY LAGO
David Lago (ex-Raul, Y&R) is looking forward to his new role on THE BAY. “My character, Justin, is going to be quite the opposite of what people are used to seeing me as,” says the actor. “Raul was really nice and responsible but I’m going to love playing this new guy. Justin shows up in town and starts causing problems — but with a lot of charm.” Aside from penning a script with a friend for a sci-fi movie, which he hopes will get produced, Lago is also writing his own poetry for a series of books which he classifies as “mostly sad, but there will be moments of happiness for the main character. My poetry is very personal and it’s all part of a bigger project. I’ve actually made little movies for 10 out of 30 poems that are in each book. It’s quite an interesting journey.” Lago admits that he would welcome the opportunity to revisit Raul on Y&R. “He’s still alive,” he chuckles. “And his wife, Brittany [Lauren Woodland], shows up in Genoa City now and then. Y&R is my second family and I loved being back for a short time last year. If there are ever any times they need me, I’ll be happy to do it. In a perfect world, I’d be working on both shows.”
