Ava And Morgan Became Lovers on General Hospital and Other Big Soap Moments from September 24

In 1951, Love of Life debuted on CBS. The soap was created by the same man who brought Search for Tomorrow to life, Roy Winsor, who went on to create The Secret Storm. Love of Life ran until February 1, 1980. Among its original cast members was Peggy McCay (pictured), who played Vanessa Dale, the show's signature heroine. McCay would go on to play the matriarch of the Brady family, Caroline, on Days of Our Lives. Originally set in the fictional town of Barrowsville, the show switched locales to the town of Rosehill for the majority of the series' run. Outside of McCay, other notable alumni of its cast are the late John Aniston, best known for playing Victor Kiriakis on DAYS, and the late Christopher Reeve, best known as Superman in the film franchise.

Their union began as a business arrangement, with Kate agreeing to marry Stefano in exchange for him ensuring that she didn't go to jail for her crimes against Daniel Jonas and Chloe Lane. In 2013 on General Hospital, Ava Jerome (Maura West) and Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) slept together for the first time. Ava had gone to her hotel room at the Metro Cout to lick her wounds after she had planted a kiss on her ex-lover, Silas Clay, and been rejected by him. Morgan, meanwhile, was heartbroken and reeling from the bust-up of his new marriage to Kiki Jerome, Ava's daughter, who had just learned that she was not biologically related to Morgan's half brother, Michael, and copped to her feelings for him. Morgan showed up on Ava's doorstep. Ava and her son-in-law found solace in one another's arms, falling into bed together.

In 2015 on Days of Our Lives, Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) was revealed to the audience to be the Necktie Killer when he was shown disposing of evidence of his crimes. His spree of murders and attempted murders had kicked off in August with the death of Serena Mason. In 2020, Wilson reflected on how he reacted to first learning that his character was a serial killer in an interview with Soap Opera Digest, saying, "At first it was a shock, because I was like, ‘Wow! This might be the end of Ben.’ I had that thought for a split second, but then, as soon as I really thought about it, it was like, ‘I’ll have an opportunity to show a little bit more of my range.’ They hadn’t written me a lot of wild roller-coaster moments up until that point. It was an opportunity for me to open Ben up, dig through the trauma of who he really is, and play the bad side of him, bring that to light and give him some more dimension. I saw it not really as a door closing, but an opportunity."

In 2024 on Young and Restless, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) was hiding out in a local motel after convincing her family she was going away to a spa for some much-needed rest and relaxation. Mariah, Nick, Tessa, and Faith were all worried when they were unable to reach her. While they fretted, Sharon had a dream in which she interacted with an injured and bleeding Daniel Romalotti. When she woke up, she bickered with the hallucination of Cameron Kirsten who had been dogging her for weeks, who continued to egg her on to do harm to Daniel. Sharon held a small vial of poison as Cameron told her she had been preparing for his moment. Sharon sat on the bed, clutching the vial as she debated her next move.
