General Hospital’s Alexis Made Sam Promise Not to Reunite with Sam and More from September 1 in History

In 1995 Bold and Beautiful’s Macy Alexander (Bobbie Eakes) and Thorne Forrester (Jeff Trachta) remarried. The bride and groom pledged their devotion with identical vows: "From this day forward, we face life together — the best of times, the worst of times, the joys, the sorrows, the successes and the failures. We'll encounter it all, and we will bless each other every day with our love, our commitment. I promise to love you and defend you, honor you and respect you."

In 2003, Judi Evans (l., with Farah Fath as Mimi Lockhart) made her first Days of Our Lives appearance as Bonnie Lockhart. Evans had previously played the role of Adrienne Johnson Kiriakis from 1987-91. Her first stint as Bonnie lasted until 2007, and she reprised the part in 2017. Evans was the show's third Bonnie, succeeding Robin Riker in 2000 and Kathy Connell from 2000-02.

In 2010, Days of Our Lives's Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) shot EJ Dimera (then-James Scott) in the head. At the time, Sami was desperate to keep EJ away from the children, and had gotten tipped off by Kate Roberts that EJ planned to take the kids and disappear the next day. "He's very drunk, and he's very scary right now," Kate further warned Sami. After Rafe fell asleep, Sami slipped out of the house. She raced to the DiMera mansion and found EJ passed out in an upstairs bedroom. She spied a gun by his side and grabbed it and, Kate's words ringing in her ears, remembering how EJ had cruelly told her Sydney was dead, she pulled the trigger!

In 2022 on Days of Our Lives, John Black (Drake Hogestyn, l.), Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and Roman Brady came to the rescue of Kayla Brady Johnson (Mary Beth Evans), Marlena Evans and Kate Roberts, who were being held hostage by Orpheus. But actually freeing them would not be so easy: even though the men managed to defuse the bomb that was poised to go off and kill them all, Orpheus was watching them from an another location, and he had yet more tricks up his sleeve.
