In 1997 on General Hospital, Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson threatened to lobotomize Dr. Pierce Dorman (Tuc Watkins), the sleazy hospital colleague with whom she'd had an affair. When Monica broke it off, Dorman had sued her for sexual harassment.

In 2003 on Days of Our Lives, Abe and Lexie Carver welcomed their son, Theo. He was born at Salem University Hospital after a dramatic pregnancy. While Lexie and Abe were going through a rough patch in their marriage, she slept with Brandon — who, unbeknownst to her, was secretly Abe’s biological son and was angling for revenge against him! When Lexie learned she was pregnant and shared the news with an overjoyed Abe, she failed to mention that she wasn’t completely sure that the baby was his. When Lexie went into labor, Brandon blurted out to his bride-to-be, Sami, that Abe is his father — a confession Abe and Lexie overheard. Thinking the baby was his, Brandon returned to the hospital, where Lexie had just come clean with an understanding Abe about having slept with Brandon. Lexie then revealed that she’d been wise to Sami’s games and had set her up — the baby really was Abe’s!

In 2006, the execution of Victor Lord, Jr. (Trevor St. John), who was then believed to be Todd Manning, began on One Life to Live. "Todd" had been convicted of murdering Margaret Cochran and her unborn child, who had been conceived when Margaret raped him. But Margaret was very much alive; she had faked her death. In the end, "Todd" was exonerated, and was ultimately reunited with the son Margaret birthed, Jack Manning.

In 2006 on General Hospital, beloved duo Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough) and Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson) made love for the first time. Patrick went to great lengths to prove to Robin that he understood the precautions they needed to take because of her HIV-positive status, which impressed Robin so much that she let down her guard enough to tell him she had wanted him for a long time. The pair welcomed a daughter and tied the knot in 2008.

In 2013, General Hospital's Franco (Roger Howarth, who had assumed the role of the homicidal artist from James Franco) revealed to his guests on The Haunted Star (a carefully curated list of Port Charles residents who had reason to cheer when he was presumed dead) that he was very much alive.
