In June of 2012, the happy couple traveled to Puglia, Italy, to tie the knot, but when Bill sprung Hope’s father, Deacon (Sean Kanan) from jail, his sudden appearance made herlate for the wedding — and Liam thought he’d been stood up.

After they eventually tied the knot in Puglia, Hope wanted a do-over wedding in August, but after Liam showed up late — with dyed hair and a tattoo from a wild night with Steffy — she called off the ceremony and, since they never filed the paperwork from Puglia, the pair were never legally wed.

In February of 2013, Brooke gave Hope and Liam a nudge by planning an impromptu wedding for them. She even invited Father Fontana, who’d performed their wedding in Italy. However, just as the couple was about to exchange vows, Steffy showed up and whispered in the groom’s ear, “I’m pregnant.”

The couple’s last attempt to marry, prior to the current cancelation, was in December of 2013. Quinn wanted Hope to be with her son, Wyatt, so she flew to Paris and persuaded Steffy to come back to the U.S. and give Liam closure. She then arranged for Hope to see the exes in an embrace. Quinn’s plan worked: An enraged Hope ran off with Wyatt.
