Laura Wright
(Carly, GH; ex-Ally, LOVING)
“I have two. One is that I still have my best friend in the world, Eric Woodall, who played Matt. To have met Eric and to still have that friendship is probably the best thing that came out of LOVING for me. Then the Casey/Ally storyline, where he was shot and killed. That was the first time I ever really emotionally understood what I was doing and everything shifted for me as an actor. I think that was probably my favorite storyline and it was a turning point for me as an actor.”

Scott Clifton (Liam, B&B; ex-Schuyler, ONE LIFE TO LIVE et al)
“I have positive memories about ONE LIFE TO LIVE because it was the only time in my life that I got to live in New York, and I’d always wanted to do that. I really enjoyed my co-stars. I really liked John-Paul Lavoisier [ex-Rex] and Farah Fath [ex-Gigi]. I just liked the camaraderie I had with them. They were dating then, by the way, and for a year-and-a-half, I was the perpetual third wheel. I enjoyed them and their caustic sense of humor and unpredictability. I also liked that I had a short walk to work. However, I am so antisocial. I made zero friends the whole time I was there, so my entire social life was going to work, coming home and eating ramen in my apartment by myself. I wish I had [been there] longer. I’d love to go back.”

Mary Beth Evans (Kayla, DAYS;
ex-Sierra, AS THE WORLD TURNS et al)
“I loved working with Elizabeth Hubbard [ex-Lucinda, ATWT]; she was so fabulous and so funny. And Hunt Block [ex-Craig, ATWT] was great and so great for me because he was so tall! That’s always good as an actress to be looking up than down! I really loved that show. I loved being in New York. I loved going out to Brooklyn; everybody was out there to work and so it was great. It was a really great experience. I was sad when it left.”

Christian J. LeBlanc (Michael, Y&R;
ex-Kirk, AS THE WORLD TURNS)
“Just being in New York. We had our own stand-alone studio on East 76th Street, between First and York, and I got to walk to work, which I didn’t know was such a special thing at the time. Living in New York was so exciting. This was my first big job. I had all these amazing teachers around me, like Margaret Colin [ex-Margo] and Justin Deas [ex-Tom] and that’s when I decided to commit to being an actor. AS THE WORLD TURNS is where I fell in love with acting.”

Eric Martsolf (Brady, DAYS; ex-Ethan,
PASSIONS)
“Gosh, that was where I got my start — that was my baby! I think my best memory — I don’t know why I hold onto this — was the first day. I was sitting in my dressing room over lunch and eating a sandwich and looking around at the walls, realizing how lucky I felt to have just landed that job. I could not believe that someone was going to actually pay me to go out and deliver lines, given that I always thought that I was going to be a lawyer in some cubicle somewhere for the rest of my life.”

Gina Tognoni (Phyllis, Y&R; ex-Kelly, OLTL; ex-Dinah, GUIDING LIGHT)
“OLTL is where I began my journey as a working actress. It was a very supportive time and gave me the green light to try anything within a scene. Great seeds were set. At GL, it was such an incredible group of actors I worked with — great memories of the crew/staff. We would grab a drink or bite after working with each other all day.”
