Who is Pascal on General Hospital? Kelly Thiebaud Dishes About The New Man in Britt’s Story (EXCL)
On August 1, Marc Forget made his General Hospital debut as Pascal, the concierge at the Five Poppies Dalmatia whose interest in Britt Westbourne appears to go far beyond just wanting to make sure that she’s enjoying her long-term stay at the Croatian hotel and spa. As the mystery deepens over where Britt has been — and why — since she appeared to die back in 2023, Soap Opera Digest got the inside scoop on the new character and his connection to Britt’s return from her portrayer, Kelly Thiebaud.
On Your Marc
“Marc has been great to work with!” Thiebaud bubbles of her new co-star. “He’s really been so intrigued by how everything works on General Hospital because I think he did a small co-star role on one of the shows or something, but he’s never had to work this much on a soap.”
Originally from Canada, Forget has actually appeared on several soaps in small roles prior to landing on GH. In addition to a long line of credits in prime-time shows ranging from Sex and the City to Grey’s Anatomy to Ray Donovan and in films like Ford vs. Ferrari, he played a trucker that Jack Snyder hitched a ride with on As the World Turns in 2002, and just last year, he popped up on Young and Restless as a Parisian doctor who tended to an ailing Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John).
According to Thiebaud, on the GH set, “Marc is just taking it all in and he’s fascinated by it. He watches other people’s scenes and he’s like, ‘Oh, they’re so good!’ He’s so much fun and easy to talk to and easy to play off of. I love him so much!”
Battle Grounds
From the characters’ first interactions on screen, it is clear that Pascal has a vested interest in making sure that Britt stays on the hotel grounds, and with good reason: He appears to be working for the same mysterious and presumably powerful male that Britt is, as hinted at when Pascal reminded her that a certain “he” didn’t want Britt leaving the Five Poppies property.
Unsurprisingly, the independent woman that she is, Britt is resisting the restrictions Pascal is putting on her movement. Nods Thiebaud, “They are definitely butting heads, you know? Britt is wanting freedom. I think she’s also getting really just irritated with her life, in a way. Pascal is there to kind of keep things in order and keep her in check and keep her working.”
The actress continues, “I think Britt is in a bit of a pickle. I don’t think she is necessarily living the life she wants to live, but she is living,” which is not something she takes for granted, given her diagnosis of Huntington’s disease, which is a fatal condition. “So, it’s like, what do you do in that situation? But yeah, she and Pascal definitely butt heads, and I think it’ll be fun to watch them play off of each other. I’m excited to see all the stuff that we’ve shot!”
