What Happened to Natalia on General Hospital

When Natalia first showed up on General Hospital, she was immediately familiar to many viewers who remembered portrayer Eva LaRue from her role as Maria Santos on All My Children. The actress made her return to daytime in the Feb. 26, 2024, episode of GH, and started stirring up drama pretty much immediately. The character softened over time, but eventually found herself caught between a rock and a hard place.

Mommie Dearest

Natalia Rogers-Ramirez had quite the arrival in Port Charles when she let herself into the Metro Court room of her daughter, Alison “Blaze” Ramirez, and found Kristina Corinthos lying in the bed! When Kristina addressed her as Mrs. Roger-Ramirez, Natalia corrected her to explain she’s a “Miss.” Blaze was surprised to see her mother and explained that they’d had a girls’ night and Kristina had crashed in her room.

As Natalia unpacked, she presented Alison with gifts from Puerto Rico, dismissing her question about the sandals being vegan and her complaint about her grandmother’s pudding. She insisted she knew her daughter, but Blaze informed her she didn’t know much, revealing that she had lied earlier and that Kristina was more than a friend. Natalia claimed that Kristina was just a distraction keeping Blaze from success, and stormed off

Blaze later had lunch with her mother at Bobbie’s, but when Natalia suggested that she was just experimenting with Kristina because her experiences with Linc put her off men, the singer got upset and walked out. Natalia went to Charlie’s Pub, where Kristina introduced her to her father, Sonny Corinthos. She asked Sonny how he dealt with Kristina coming out, and admitted she felt guilty for not protecting her daughter from Linc. After Sonny offered some advice, Natalia told Kristina she’d come hoping to ask her to help mend fences between her and Alison, but realized now that they had to do that themselves.

Acting as her daughter’s manager, Natalia asked that Blaze’s private life be kept out of her work as the Face of Deception. Especially as Kristina was now acting as a surrogate for her sister. Natalia grew closer to Sonny and accepted his invitation to be his guest at Brook Lynn and Chase’s wedding. Ava got Natalia to open up about her feelings regarding Blaze and Kristina’s relationship and then leaked a recording of her homophobic remarks to the press! Natalia was humiliated and tried to explain, begging for forgiveness. After Kristina lost her baby in a terrible accident, Natalia tried to keep Blaze away from the hospital, arguing she wasn’t family. At Natalia’s urging, Kristina broke up with Blaze, who then fired her mother and went on tour with Miguel Morez.

Fresh Start

Natalia found herself a new job as CFO of Deception when Sonny made hiring her a condition of his investing in the company. She continued trying to make amends for her previous words and actions, and after a fender bender with Kristina, they hashed things out. Kristina was also grateful when Natalia testified in court that the crash had been her own fault. She opened up to Sonny about how she wasn’t as close to her kids as he was with his, and he assured her there was always time to fix things.

In January 2025, Natalia was with Sonny when he had another attack and got him his medication in time. She helped Sonny cover his illness and made up an excuse about traveling with him to Los Angeles on business so he could see a cardiologist on the sneak. However, neither of them realized that they were being tailed by one of Jenz Sidwell’s goons, and it was later revealed that Natalia was Sidwell’s ex-wife! At first, she suspected he was staging a hostile takeover of Deception, but he insisted he was on the level. However, she later accused him of using his business with Deception as a cover for his smuggling operations!

Natalia was stunned when she and Jenz’s son, Marco Rios, arrived in Port Charles, and he still harbored a grudge against her for the way she treated him when he came out of the closet. She came clean with Sonny about her past with Sidwell, and he dropped her like a hot potato. Stinging from the rejection, Natalia told Sidwell about Sonny’s upcoming heart surgery in exchange for him smoothing things over between her and their son. Naturally, she also lost her job at Deception because of her deception.

A Tragic End

After another clash with Marco, Natalia drowned her sorrows and wound up getting arrested for drunk driving. ADA Turner took over the prosecution of her case and offered a deal. Natalia later met with Sonny and told him that the DA wanted her to give up incriminating evidence on him, explaining she’d found some financial discrepancies in Deception’s financials that could lead to trouble for him. She insisted she didn’t want to hurt him, but also didn’t want to go to prison. He subsequently offered her a new life in Belize, and she reluctantly accepted, even knowing she’d have to leave her kids behind. She gave Sonny the key to the safety deposit box containing the evidence against him, then went to see Marco, not as a client but as his mother. When she told him she’d accepted Sonny’s offer, the attorney was upset that he’d get in trouble for making a deal with ADA Turner that her mother never intended to honor. He said if she walked out on him, she would be nothing to him, and she responded, “I already am.”

Upset, Natalia went to see Sonny at his granddaughter’s christening, where she was upset to learn that he never intended to come to Belize with her. Returning to her room, she informed Sonny’s men that she had to pack, but instead threw back some pills with some booze and tried to text an apology to Marco that came out all garbled as she was already pretty far gone. When Anna and Chase tried to intercept Natalia before she could leave the country, they found her unresponsive in her room and rushed her to the hospital. There, the doctors tried in vain to revive her and were forced to declare her dead. Though they did want to do an autopsy to see if Natalia mixed booze and pills in an attempt to take her own life or if foul play was involved.
