The Young & the Restless Recap: Sally’s Goes into Labor with Adam, Billy Gets Dire News About Jill!
Billy (Jason Thompson) and Sally’s (Courtney Hope) wedding went off without a hitch on The Young and the Restless — but the reception was packed with drama as Sally’s water broke while she was alone with Adam (Mark Grossman) and Billy received alarming news about Jill’s (Jess Walton) health! Here’s how it all went down on the Monday, October 19 episode of Y&R.
Billy and Sally Are Married
At the top of the episode, Sally was overjoyed when her grandmother, Shirley (Patrika Darbo), appeared in time to walk her down the aisle to a beaming Billy, who declared that she looked “absolutely stunning.”
A tearful Sally spoke her vows first. “Oh, my gosh, this feels like a dream,” she exclaimed. Sally noted that despite her past hardships, she always knew she would find a man who would love her wholeheartedly and that every heartbreak she’d experienced had led her to Billy, “my true north star.” Sally told her groom that she loved him and was honored to “share in this life’s adventure” with him.
Wiping away a tear of his own, Billy gushed about how incredible Sally is and how lucky he was that she agreed to marry him. “You are my everything,” he told her. “My love, my life. I am a better man today than I’ve ever been and that’s because of you… I’ve never been so excited and so ready for whatever tomorrow brings.”
After exchanging rings, Sally and Billy were pronounced husband and wife. They shared a tender kiss as their guests applauded, then made their way back up the aisle.

Ready to Mingle
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds received congratulations and hugs — including one from Ashley (Eileen Davidson) to Sally. Ashley conceded that she could tell how in love her brother and Sally were and told a touched Sally, “I couldn’t be happier.”
Sally grabbed a private moment with Billy to thank him for the note he wrote her. The conversation was cut short when Audra (Zuleyka Silver) and Coco (Ashley Campbell) fetched Sally to change into her reception dress.
Various guests chatted and hit the dance floor, and Billy thanked Cane (Billy Flynn) for getting Traci (Beth Maitland) to smile again by taking her for a spin. Their talk turned to Jill, with the men agreeing they wished she had been able to come. Billy added that he hoped his mom would make it in time to see her new grandchild’s birth.
Meanwhile, Jack (Peter Bergman) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) praised Adam for being on his best behavior. Adam said that he had promised not to cause any tension and Billy hadn’t given him a reason to go back on his word.
Billy approached and got in a dig at Adam: “You sticking to your word? It’d be a first.” Adam reached out his hand to Billy, but Billy rebuffed the offer of a handshake. Adam offered a curt congratulations and stalked off.

Billy Gets Dire News About Jill as Sally’s Water Breaks
Upstairs in Sally’s suite, Audra and Coco helped Sally primp and the over-the-moon bride said that a year ago, she never would have believed this could happen. Adam came up in conversation, and Coco confessed that she’d had to resist the urge to punch her sister’s ex.
Sally changed clothes, but soon doubled over in pain. She sat down on the bed and took some deep breaths until her pains subsided, then asked her bridesmaids not to tell Billy what had happened, chalking it up to the baby just being excited.
The three women headed back downstairs, and when Sally gasped, Audra asked her if she was having another pain. Sally said no; she’d just figured out what she wanted to do for Billy in response to the loving note he’d written her. Sally slipped back upstairs alone — and Adam followed her.

Back at the reception, Billy chatted with Shirley, Traci, Jack and Ashley, then with Johnny (Paxton Mishkind) and Katie (Sienna Mercuri). He excused himself when he got a call from Snapper.
Billy asked Snapper what was going on, and exchanged a look with Cane when he heard that Cane was also on the line. Billy worriedly asked if his mom was okay, and Snapper broke the news that they were at the hospital because Jill had had a cardiac event.
“Be honest with us,” Billy pleaded. “Is she gonna make it or not?”

In her suite, Sally was shocked when she answered the knock at her door to find Adam. He explained to a wary Sally that he wanted to congratulate her privately and just wanted her to be happy.
Sally thanked Adam and assured him that she appreciated the sentiment — then was hit with another sharp pain and began moaning.
Adam brought her water and suggested that they head to the hospital or call someone. Sally tried to wave it away as Braxton-Hicks but as her pain worsened, she conceded, “I think I’m in labor.” Just then, her water broke!
