The Young & the Restless: Joshua Morrow Shuts Down Nick & Sienna Romance Speculation: ‘I Can’t Fathom That’
On The Young and the Restless, love triangles involving two members of the same family are far from uncommon — but Joshua Morrow says viewers shouldn’t expect Nick to cross that line with his son Noah’s (Lucas Adams) current lover, Sienna (Tamara Braun).
Like Father, Like Son?
When the actor and his co-star, Mark Grossman (Adam), joined Michael Fairman for a livestream interview, Morrow addressed viewer speculation that Nick would eventually become romantically involved with Sienna — despite the fact that she’s currently dating his son, Noah. “I can’t fathom that he would mess with his son’s gal,” Morrow said. “I just don’t see that ever happening.”
Nick has, of course, been intimate with women who were also involved with members of his family, namely his father, Victor (Eric Braeden), and his brother, Adam — including Adam’s current paramour, Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan). Even as Morrow teased that Sienna is “one of the few women on the show” Nick hasn’t hooked up with, he made it clear that he couldn’t imagine that Nick would risk his relationship with his firstborn son by pursuing the woman Noah loves. “He loves the ladies, but I think the thing that Nick likes most in this world is being a dad,” Morrow reasoned.
But viewing Sienna as romantically off-limits and embracing Noah’s choice of partner are not one and the same. “Definitely not his choice” is how Morrow described Nick’s feelings about Noah getting together with the woman who had unwittingly married Nick’s sworn enemy, avowed Newman hater Matt Clark (Roger Howarth).
Nick is hardly in a solid position to pursue a new romance, given that he is in the throes of drug addiction. His own life spiraling out of control hasn’t stopped Nick from giving the side-eye to Noah and Sienna’s relationship, and Morrow said that Nick’s skepticism will continue. “There’s a lot of questions there still with him and her,” he observed. “Nick and Sharon [Sharon Case] both are still not completely trusting of Sienna… There’s a mystery always surrounding her. She and his son seem to be pretty tight, but she doesn’t really give Nick a ton of good feelings yet — and it’s mostly probably because of the Matt connection. But I don’t know, it just doesn’t seem like a relationship with a ton of promise to Nick.”
If Noah wasn’t in the equation, though, Morrow said he could easily picture Sienna catching Nick’s interest. “Tamara is beautiful and talented and I think if the situation were different, maybe Nick and her do take all their clothes off,” he winked.
