At the GCAC, Lily (Christel Khalil) and Cane (Billy Flynn) sit down with Holden (Nathan Owens) at a table for a bite to eat as well as a chat. “So what are your plans going forward?” Lily asks her half brother. Holden shrugs and admits, “Honestly, I have… I have no idea.” Cane interjects to suggest, “Maybe we can remedy that for you.” Are they about to offer Holden a position at Chancellor? And if so, would he accept the job?
Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) bring Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) home from the hospital following her surgery. “Alright, here we are, Mom,” Victoria says, opening the door to the Newman Ranch. “We’re home.”
Bringing up the rear, Nick holds his mother’s arms gently, guiding her through the doorway since her eyes are still covered with bandages, and she is unable to see. “Here we go,” he directs. “A couple steps. Now step up. There we go, nice and easy. You’re doing so good, Mom.” But just how much of her eyesight will Nikki be able to recover, and given the state of her marriage to Victor (Eric Braeden), will being home help her or hurt her?
After Kyle (Michael Mealor) rescued Diane (Susan Walters) from Dr. Laurence Markham (Jere Burns), mother and son arrive back at the Abbott mansion, surprised that Jack (Peter Bergman) isn’t waiting for them. “Dad?” Kyle calls upstairs, getting no response. In the living room, Diane wonders, “Do you think he went somewhere?” Kyle replies, “I don’t think so, unless he wanted to surprise you with something. I expected him to be waiting by the front door. He knew we were coming.”
Just then, they hear the clatter of silverware coming from the dining room, and their heads turn. “What was that?” Kyle asks, concerned. They quickly head in, having no idea that they’re about to enter the crime scene where Patty (Stacy Haiduk) stabbed Jack and left him to die!
