The Young and the Restless Fave Hunter King Marries Filmmaker Chris Copier
Huge congratulations are in order for former The Young and the Restless star Hunter King. The two-time Daytime Emmy-winner, who portrayed Summer Newman on and off between 2012 and 2022, revealed on Instagram that she said, “I do” to filmmaker Chris Copier on Valentine’s Day. Here’s what you need to know about the duo and their big day!
I’m With Cupid
King and Copier’s road to the altar kicked off in 2022 when she starred in the independent movie Give Me Your Eyes, on which Comier served as the first assistant director. A year later, they officially started dating, and they have since collaborated on other projects, including the Hallmark hit Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story, which was inspired by the headline-grabbing romance of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.
Copier got down on one knee and proposed to King on the beach while on a stroll with their dogs in October 2024. On Instagram, she exulted, “Best day of my life🤍 @chriscope88 I can’t wait to marry your ass💍.”
According to Just Jared, the pair’s Medieval Times-themed nuptials were held on February 14 at Same Day Marriage in Studio City, CA, and the intimate event was attended only by 18 guests, all immediately family members. After, the newlyweds celebrated at a tiki bar in Burbank and continued the party at Medieval Times. In June 2026, the couple is planning to follow up this legal ceremony with a splashier destination wedding in Tuscany, Italy.
The actress shared a carousel of wedding photos of herself with her groom and their loved ones in her post, with a caption that read, “Long ago, (on Valentine’s Day) we said I do in front of the realm (our families). We celebrated (at Medieval Times) well into the night (9pm). The end⚔️🏰.” King’s actress sister, Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Joey King, was in attendance, and she cooed in the comment section, “My LITERAL queen!!!!!! The prettiest bride ever.”
Many of King’s former Y&R co-stars were quick to offer their congratulations. Eileen Davidson (Ashley), Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren), Beth Maitland (Traci), Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea) and Melissa Ordway (Ashley) were among those who commented with well wishes.
