The Bold and the Beautiful: Matthew Atkinson and Wife Brytnee Ratledge Expecting Baby No. 2
Thomas may struggle to find happiness on Bold and Beautiful, but portrayer Matthew Atkinson is living his best life. He and his wife, Brytnee, have just announced that they are expecting their second child together.
Baby Makes Four
In a joint post with Atkinson, Ratledge shared a photo of herself and her husband cradling her growing baby bump outdoors in front of a patch of colorful lilies on Instagram and announced, “Baby Girl Atkinson loading… 🎀”
Atkinson popped the question to girlfriend Brytnee Ratledge in June 2023, and they tied the knot on November 8, 2023, in Lake Tahoe. The couple then announced that they were expecting their first child in July 2024 and welcomed their son that fall.
The comments of the joint social media announcement filled with congratulatory messages from friends and castmates. “Did mama know or did mama know?” Tamara Braun (Sienna, Y&R) declared. “Tell that Judgy Jude to get ready to be the best big brother to baby girl. I know he will be. I love you, Brytnee. Hugs and kisses for you, Matt, Maisel, Jude and baby girl. I love you always. 🩷”
Atkinson’s TV sister Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy, B&B), herself mom to five boys, chimed in to add, “Ahhhh!! Congratulations!! So so happy for you both! Best news!” Ashley Jones (Bridget, B&B) cheered, “Omgoodness. Y’all,” with a series of pink heart emojis. Kimberlin Brown (Sheila, B&B) commented, “Omg!!! So excited!!” and Courtney Hope (Sally, Y&R), Naomi Matsuda (Li, B&B) and Delon de Metz (Zende, B&B) also offered their congratulations.
Atkinson made his daytime debut playing Austin Travers on Young and Restless from 2014-15, then joined the cast of B&B as the newest Thomas Forrester in 2019. After his exit in March 2024, the actor returned to the soap for a visit in June and July of that year, then reprised the role again in September 2025. His most recent appearance was in a couple of episodes in December 2025.
