Tajh Bellow Speaks Out on TJ’s Future on General Hospital
TJ Ashford has been missing in action on General Hospital since December, in the wake of his separation from domestic partner Molly. But his portrayer, Tajh Bellow, has been keeping plenty busy and is preparing for the Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony in October. He is nominated this year in the Outstanding Supporting Actor category for his work in the heartbreaking surrogacy storyline that ended with Molly and TJ mourning the loss of the child Kristina was carrying for them.

“Hey guys,” Bellow declared in a selfie video to his fans he posted on Instagram. “I have been taking my time. Processing the nomination, and I just want to say thank you for all of the congratulatory messages and the outpouring of support for TJ and that heartbreaking storyline. It was a privilege to be afforded the space as a Creole Black man to grieve and hurt and really wrestle and tackle that raw emotion, and then for that to be visible to millions of viewers, I think that is important storytelling. And I hope that it opens doors for more people that look like me and talk like me. I’m excited.”
Bellow became the third actor to play the role of TJ Ashford on GH when he joined the cast of the soap in November 2018, succeeding Krys Meyer and Tequan Richmond. This year’s Daytime Emmy nomination is his second, as he received a nod for Outstanding Younger Actor in 2021.
The last GH episode featuring TJ aired on December 6, 2024. In that show, the judge ruled that Kristina’s fall that caused her to lose the baby was an accident and Ava was not to blame. TJ and Molly found themselves disagreeing about the verdict, and their relationship appeared beyond repair. Since then, some viewers have wondered if they’ll ever see TJ again or if Bellow has permanently left the soap.
“As far as the future of TJ,” Bellow added in his video. “If he’ll be back and in the capacity of which he’ll be back, I can’t speak to that yet, but I am excited about upcoming projects that are on the way and… more diverse storytelling.”
In the comments of Bellow’s Instagram post, Marc Anthony Samuel (Felix) posted: “More diverse storytelling is where it’s at! Congratulations, bro.” And the actor’s TV mom, Tanisha Harper (Jordan) chimed in to add: “I’m so excited for you! Doing big things!”
One of the big things that Bellow is preparing for is attending Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles this fall, working towards his Master’s in Entertainment Leadership and Management. The actor shared that he had been accepted to the program back in June, declaring it a “New Quest — Unlocked.”
