Nicolas Bechtel On GH Return
Nicolas Bechtel returns to GH today as Spencer Cassadine, a role he began playing in 2013. His duties on the Disney series STUCK IN THE MIDDLE have kept him off the canvas since last year, but, he reports, “[Executive Producer] Frank Valentini and my mom have been in contact the entire time I have been on STUCK IN THE MIDDLE. They were trying to orchestrate my return according to my SITM hiatus.” He was thrilled to step back on set. “What I love about playing Spencer is that it’s challenging,” he explains. “It makes me really dig deep and really do what I do.” His reunion with Valentini was a warm one (“I was really happy to see Frank. He really knows me. He knows my family, he knows what’s going on in my life and school”), and he also received “hugs and ‘OMGs’” aplenty from his co-stars. “I think the person who was the most excited to see me was Ryan Paevey [Nathan],” Bechtel says. “He’s definitely my buddy and we had a lot of lunches and breakfasts to catch up on.”
