How To Watch Kamar de los Reyes’s Final Performance
Kamar de los Reyes as Hector Ayala in Disney+’s Daredevil: Born Again.
Beloved former One Life to Live star, Kamar de los Reyes, who played Antonio Vega on and off from 1995 until 2009 and passed away from cancer on December 24, 2023, at the age of 56, still has one more appearance coming up that his fans will want to see.
An Important Role
One of his last acting jobs that he shot before his death was as Hector Ayala (aka White Tiger — a hero who wants to do the right thing) in the new streaming series Daredevil: Born Again. The first two episodes of the have dropped on the streaming series Disney+. De los Reyes appears in the second episode, and the show honored the actor with an in memoriam title card before that installment begins.
The show started production in March of 2023 but was interrupted by the two strikes that disrupted much of production that year. The show resumed filming in 2024, after de los Reyes’s passing.
On Daredevil: Born Again, Hector got in trouble with the law and needed an attorney after the police tried to make it look like he had killed a cop. Matt Murdock, played by Charlie Cox, then steps in to help.
Other projects that de los Reyes completed before his death include providing the voice of Barranca in the video game of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (which was also dedicated to his memory) and a recurring role on All American playing Coach Montes, alongside Days of Our Lives star Lamon Archey (Eli Grant).
At the time of his death, the actor was happily married to actress Sherri Saum (ex-Keri Reynolds, OLTL; ex-Vanessa Hart, Sunset Beach), who he wed on May 19, 2007. “I knew she was the girl for me the day I laid eyes on her,” de los Reyes told Digest that same year. The couple shared two sons, John Rubén de los Reyes and Michael Luís de los Reyes. He also had a son, , from a previous relationship.
