The Young and the Restless Comings & Goings: Tricia Cast Returns as Nina
The Young and the Restless is welcoming Tricia Cast back to the role of Nina Webster in scenes set to air the week of August 17. The actress, who made her Y&R debut in June 1986, was last seen as Nina in November 2025, when the character returned to Genoa City for Christine (Lauralee Bell) and Danny’s (Michael Damian) wedding.
Tricia Cast Makes Y&R Comeback as Nina
On July 9, Lauralee Bell broke the news on Instagram that Cast, her longtime co-star and real-life pal, had returned to the Y&R studio to film more episodes. “I hit the jackpot today working with [Beth Maitland, Traci] and @triciacast ❤️❤️,” she wrote alongside a photograph and video of the three actresses. “Love you both!” she added.
Cast and Bell have worked alongside one another for decades on Y&R. Nina was introduced 40 years ago as a troubled teenager who Christine (then known as Cricket) encountered on a park bench. They became roommates and later best friends, with Nina standing up for Cricket both times she married Danny.
Though she has been based in Nashville for many years, Cast has made multiple return trips to Los Angeles to film as Nina since she wrapped her first Y&R run in 2001. The Daytime Emmy Award-winning actress made a brief return in 2008, then appeared regularly from 2009-13. She has made short-term comebacks in 2014, 2020 and 2023 in addition to her visit last year.
When she commutes cross-country to work at Y&R, Cast usually bunks with Bell. “She put me up and I’m very happy for it,” Cast shared with Soap Opera Digest about filming the episodes surrounding Danny and Christine’s nuptials in 2025. “We drove to work together and it was like a sleepover!”
The actress also told Digest how much it means to her that Nina still has a place in viewers’ hearts. “It is so nice to be remembered,” she beamed. “It is such a warm feeling. I’m so grateful for them sticking by Nina even though she’s been so absent from the scene.”
