Cassie sauntered into Jeffrey’s apartment and asked if he missed her. Yup, he did. Cassie decided to hang out at her new lover’s place while he went to work. Jeffrey left, but came back very quickly to get a little nooky. Cassie sent him on his way. There was a knock on the door — it was Edmund. Casssie said that she wanted to talk to Edmund about the baby. They instantly started discussing his violent streak, although Edmund was incredibly calm throughout the whole conversation. Edmund laughed that Cassie wasn’t taking the moral high ground because, hey, she was a married woman in bed with Jeffrey, a man she had wanted since he appeared in town. Edmund started strumming a guitar, much to Cassie’s annoyance. Edmund then taunted that the only reason she wanted Jeffrey was because he was a dead ringer for her dead husband. Cassie slapped him. Edmund sneered that Jeffrey wasn’t fit to shine Richard’s shoes. That didn’t sit too well with Cassie. She told Edmund to return to the farm, pack his stuff and move out. Jeffrey walked into their conversation and Edmund ran off. Cassie beat herself up about her love life. She wouldn’t pipe down about her troubles so Jeffrey kissed her. They started joking and Cassie’s mood lightened. Cassie sighed that Richard took such good care of her. Jeffrey looked stunned. What did you say? Jeffrey asked.
Reva had some hot flashes and was rubbing a cold bottle on her skin when Nate came up behind her. Nate told Reva that Josh had to leave town to go to some creeky thing. (That would be Cross Creek.) Nate tried to kiss Reva, and she eventually gave into him. Suddenly, she pushed him away, announcing that she was married. Reva took off and Jonathan appeared. Nate was all angry and vowed to teach Reva a lesson. Jonathan started talking back. Nate attacked Jonathan, who quickly turned the tables on him. He punched Nate just as Reva came in and pulled the men apart. Reva laid into Jonathan while Nate looked awfully smug. Jonathan told Reva that he knew he was scum — just like she was. He started kicking the furniture and pulled a switchblade on Reva.
In prison, Mallet was escorted to the room where Alan paid him a visit. Alan shared that he was the one who pulled the expensive strings to get him out of jail. Mallet was, understandably, wary of Alan’s motives. Alan explained that the police made procedural errors so the charges against Mallet were dropped. Quickly, it became clear that Alan wanted Mallet to go after Harley so Gus would be booted out of the picture. Mallet wasn’t sure if he wanted to take Alan’s deal, but Spaulding said he had no choice. Mallet pointed out that yes, he indeed did. After Mallet left, Alan looked at the television screen and caught a glimpse of LIGHT OF LOVE. Alan called directory assistance in New York to get the number to the studio.
Sebastian placed a pillow over Wallace’s face, but in the struggle, the patient pressed the nurse’s call button. She, along with Gus and Harley, rushed in and found Wallace unconscious. The nurse kicked Gus and Harley out and went to find a doctor. But Gus and Harley slipped back in and it realized that Wallace was dead. Harley started to unravel. They went back to the soap opera set and Harley said that Gus’s plan might be their only option: Take her kids and go into hiding. Gus wasn’t sure if that would work, but Harley said that she was running out of choices. Harley said that Gus didn’t have to continue on this journey with her. She knew that she was ruining his life. Gus insisted that he wasn’t going anywhere. In fact, he was in for the long haul. They went to the beach (hey, every soap town, even the landlocked ones have them.) Gus turned on a light for “moonlight” and the two started to kiss. Back at the hospital, the staff wheeled Wallace away while Sebastian lurked around the corner. The nurse found Wallace’s note on the floor and read it: It said Alan was the shooter. ….
Alan arrived in New York City, while Mallet told the guard that he was headed back to his hometown, the Big Apple.
