Harley and Mallet discussed the perfume samples in the visiting room — she couldn’t identify any of them as the scent she smelled the night of the murder — guess she’s not too concerned about being seen with the warden anymore. Harley accused her ex of wanting to keep her in prison, but he confessed that he had left two messages with Gus with no response. Lena called Alan and told him of Harley’s memory of the night of the murder and asked to see her daughter in exchange for the information. Buzz visited Harley and informed his daughter that Gus had disappeared. When her father wouldn’t help her scheme, Harley went to Mallet with a plan to get out of prison. Conjugal visit, anyone? Meanwhile Gus remained trapped and ailing in the boiler room, but refused the water his captor provided, afraid it was poisoned.
Michelle told Danny that she believed Tony sacrificed himself for them, but Danny was more interested in why Michelle nixed her wedding plans. Eventually, Michelle confessed, indirectly, that she wanted to be with Danny and he replied in an equally non-explicit manner that he was picking Marina over her. Though Marina told her dad that she was ready to walk away from Danny if necessary, she happily agreed to be with him when he chose her. In related news, Jeffrey and Frank questioned Danny and Michelle about the accident.
Jeffrey promised to help Cassie secure a lawyer who could help her keep Will (Alonzo had ordered him returned to San Cristobel for princely training) but the DA told Cassie that she had to give him a chance romantically or stop stringing him along. Meanwhile, Ross went to the airport to make sure that Edmund really left town, not knowing that Dinah was already on the plane. But Cassie arrived and asked Edmund to stay and help her with Will, though she made it clear that she wasn’t inviting him back into her bed. Edmund agreed to help, but secretly told Alonzo he’d work to deliver Will before staging an argument with Alonzo for Cassie’s benefit, insisting that they would not hand over the child.

Jonathan lied to his mystery caller (Darla? or someone else…) that Reva moved to Aspen and Josh’s job offer was only a joke. He met Reva at the airport. “Who died?” she joked upon spotting him in a suit. “I’m trying to make a good impression,” he replied. “Court date?” she asked warily. No, a new job a Lewis he told his surprised Mom. Jonathan then took Reva to meet Josh at Company where he and Bill were discussing his job offer to Jon. Reva informed her hubby that she needed a new beginning. Josh propositioned Reva like she was a stranger, asking her for advice on how to win over his wife. Meanwhile, Bill informed Jonathan that his new job would include undercover work. Jonathan got a disturbing flower delivery (No, not at his home, but outside of Company. Go figure.) with the note: “A welcome back gift for Reva and congrats on the new job. Don’t lie to us again.”
Marina heard on the radio that a man named Santos was injured at Laurel Falls and, assuming the man in question was Danny, rushed there. Michelle and Danny proved unable to revive Tony and Michelle explained to the arriving paramedics that it was an accident. Marina arrived and was relieved to find Danny alive. Michelle, Danny, Marina and a deceased Tony were taken to the hospital, where a delirious Danny called Marina “Michelle” but when Marina went to find his ex, Danny asked “Michelle” to get Marina for him. Hate when that happens… Marina promised Michelle that she would back off if that was what Danny needed. Father Ray gave Tony last rites.
Edmund informed a distraught Dinah that he is leaving town until the baby’s birth. Not so fast, whined Dinah, I want to come too. Edmund confided that he hoped his absence would convince Cassie of her love for him. Meanwhile, Cassie shared the news of Edmund’s impending departure with Jeffrey, who was — to put it mildly — more excited by the news than Dinah. Cassie’s sons returned to the farm and she and Edmund had the difficult task of explaining to them that he is leaving town. But though the boys asked her to make Edmund stay, Cassie remained strong. Edmund went to the airport, where Dinah followed and purchased a ticket of her own, while Cassie got some disturbing news from San Cristobel. “Oh my God, you can’t take my child away,” she lamented.

An unhappy Tony let it slip to Danny that he knows Michelle slept with him and begged Danny to give up on his ex. The cousins got into a shoving match and took a header over a cliff (that’s not what they mean by cliff diving fellas!), but Michelle was able to grab the arms of both men. Tony pleaded with Michelle to save Danny and let go of his (Tony’s) hand, which she did. Michelle and Danny then rushed to the bottom of the chasm and began CPR.
Bill pillow-talked to Olivia that he hadn’t really slept with Harley, but his confession got a chilly reception — Olivia threw a bucket of ice under the sheets, angry that he lied to her to protect Harley again. Just as the pair were making nice, Bill’s momma Vanessa arrived for a chat with her son. Unfortunately, Olivia wasn’t dressed for guests and had misplaced her panties, which made a memorable impression. Nessa offered to take the unlikely threesome to Company for a drink where she reunited with Alan. Vanessa offered her son some sage advice about his new bride: I like her. She’s just like me. Now dump her. “I love Olivia more than ever,” Bill intoned.
Lizzie pulled the old “my daddy’s dead, I want a party” card and Alan was happy to oblige, assuring his granddaughter that money would be no object. But Alex fretted to her brother that Gus was out of control and trying to pin Phillip’s murder on Olivia. Mallet ordered Alan to stay away from Harley, though he confessed amusement at watching the surveillance tape of Harley attacking Alan. Alan responded by accusing Mallet of having as much invested in seeing Harley spend life in prison as he does and wrapped up his day by issuing a vague threat that Olivia must stay away from Bill to protect Emma.
Mallet hatched a scheme to help Harley get out of prison and she ‘fessed up to him about her memory of the night of Phillip’s murder. Alexandra stopped by for a visit and was reprimanded by a guard for violating the “no touching” prison clause. “You’d think I should know better, wouldn’t you?” quipped Alex before agreeing to find Gus and tell him to visit Harley in prison. Back in her cell, Harley hallucinated that Gus told her he was over her. Mallet arrived and offered Harley a bag of perfume samples to test whether she could recognize the perfume from the night of the murder. Boy are the other inmates going to be jealous when they find out she’s getting gift bags from Sephora…Meanwhile Gus remained trapped in the boiler room, where his captor had turned up the heat, literally, endangering Gus’ health.

Cassie and Edmund discussed how to tell the boys that a) they are splitting up and b) Dinah is carrying their baby (yep, good luck with that one). However, neither point was fully resolved as Vanessa and Ross stormed in brandishing a newspaper headline reading “Mayor Attempts to Kidnap Daughter, Fails.” It was the entire front page, so it must have been a slow news day in Springfield. Dinah had pitched the story to the press, but Vanessa and Ross fingered Edmund as the culprit. Edmund offered to leave town until the baby is born to appease the unhappy…well, what exactly does one call the parents of the gestational carrier?…but was stunned when Cass seemed willing to take him up on his offer.
Danny took Marina to Laurel Falls to watch the sunrise and prove that he is over Michelle, but a still skeptical Marina insisted Danny stay behind alone to come to terms with the end of his marriage. Meanwhile, Tony caught Michelle calling Danny and brought her to Laurel Falls to convince her that her life is with him, not her ex-husband. “Getting your memory back was the worst thing that ever happened to you!” he argued, but Michelle remained torn between the two men and confessed to making love with Danny after regaining her memory. Danny interrupted just as an insistent Tony grabbed Michelle.
Holly met Sebastian to finalize her deal with Spaulding, but when unhappy with the terms, Sebastian urged her to walk away. Not so fast, replied Alan, who arrived in time to negotiate a deal with Holly where she would lower her asking price for The Banner, in exchange for retaining editorial control. Meanwhile Sebastian and Blake had an icky conversation when she asked her BROTHER if he wants to sleep with her MOTHER. Sebastian confessed that he came back to Springfield to take down Alan and Blake wanted in on the action so she threw her water in Sebastian’s face to convince Alan that she is against the merger. “I deserve an Academy Award,” she quipped and finished off her performance by slapping her brother.

Vanessa returned to Springfield (huzzah!) and had a drink with Jeffrey to “fortify” herself for the altercation ahead with Dinah. Back at the farm, Cassie probed Dinah, hoping to figure out if she loves Edmund, but Vanessa interrupted. “It’s a lot to take in all at once,” she reflected on Dinah’s pregnancy. “I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks so,” replied Cass. After Cassie left the women to their mother/daughter reunion, Vanessa made Dinah an offer — leave Springfield for Europe immediately. Not so fast, said Cassie, who burst in with Jeffrey and explained she had taken out a restraining order against Vanessa and Ross to keep them away from Dinah.
Tammy and Sandy told Josh that they talked Jonathan out of leaving town. Meanwhile, Darla, the woman behind the mysterious phone calls (which she even more mysteriously referred to as “our calls.” hmmm….) threatened to frame Jon as a drug pusher if he didn’t cooperate. When Josh interrupted, Jon claimed Darla was a hooker — “We were bargaining price” — and turned down Josh’s job offer. Darla complimented Tammy on her good looks and offered to help her get modeling work. Not so fast, said Jon and this time upgraded Darla to a madam in his lie (What does it say about Jonathan that no one questioned he’d be cavorting with a prostitute?).
Harley remembered a woman’s jasmine perfume from the night of Phillip’s murder, but Mallet wouldn’t let her call Gus with the news, stating that Gus is responsible for Harley being in prison and isn’t trustworthy. Men who cheated on their wives in vans shouldn’t throw stones, Harley replied. Instead, Harley confided her memory to Lena, who urged her not to tell anyone. Meanwhile, Gus, unable to take Harley’s calls anyway, was locked in a boiler room. A disguised voice urged Gus to give up his investigation of Phillip’s murder or Harley would die….
