GH’s Laura Wright On Emmy Nom
Laura Wright (Carly, GH), who took home the Lead Actress Daytime Emmy in 2011, is celebrating her fourth nomination. “It’s a really big deal on a lot of levels,” she says of what the nod means to her. “It wouldn’t have changed anything for me had I not gotten nominated for how incredible the storyline was for me, [but] it’s a really nice thing to be a part of, and I can’t wait for the luncheon we get to do with the other actresses! The Lead Actress luncheon, I’m so super-excited about, it’s one of my favorite things. I’m just really happy. It was a heavy, emotional year, and it kicked my butt in a lot of ways, but it’s all been good.” She was, however, taken aback not to see her leading man, Maurice Benard (Sonny), on the nominee list. “I’m just going to say it: That doesn’t make any sense to me. And I could say the same thing about Michelle Stafford [Nina]! Her reel was, to me, incredible. I’m one of her biggest fans. So, I sit in shock about those two, I have to say. Big shock.”
