GH Nurses Ball Day Three: Secrets and Lies Exposed!
Viewers who tune in for the annual General Hospital Nurses Ball know that as entertaining as the performances are on stage, it’s the backstage drama that tends to blow up in a big way with everyone gathered in the same place. After the first day showcased a red carpet full of stunning looks and tense encounters, the second featured the first musical acts as well as some life-changing confessions. But that was just the warm-up for day three as a major secret was finally revealed — and in the most heartbreaking way possible!
Putting on an Act
Reeling from Portia’s confirmation that Drew had her under his thumb, Curtis lashed out at his wife for putting their whole family at risk and insisted that they return to the show and act like nothing was wrong. Encountering Trina and Kai, Portia was able to fake it, but Curtis struggled to put on a brave face. Meanwhile, Nina cornered Carly in the bathroom to gloat that at the custody trial, she will happily testify that Michael abandoned his children and refused to speak to Willow when she tried to visit him at the German clinic. “There’s only been one parent who’s been there consistently,” Nina declared. “A loving, stable force for those children. Giving them everything that they need. It’s not Michael. It’s their mother. And you’d better believe I’m going to make sure the court sees that.” And before flouncing off, she added, “Have a nice evening.”

Brooklyn In the House: Sonny (Maurice Benard, second from l.) and Ned (Wally Kurth, r.) had a ringside seat as Olivia (Lisa LoCicero, r.) gave Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) a piece of her mind.
Spotting Drew with Willow in the hall, Ned lashed out at the congressman for framing Tracy and having her publicly arrested on the red carpet for drugging him. When Willow defended her beau, Olivia jumped in to back up her husband. “This one is wreaking havoc everywhere he goes, and you’re just standing by his side cheering him on,” she spat at Willow, gesturing at Drew. “So don’t be expecting any sympathy when this whole thing blows up in your face!” Later, Willow was glad Drew’s name was cleared so it wouldn’t affect her custody battle with Michael, but she balked when he suggested making a fresh start together in Washington, D.C.
Lucy took to the stage to urge everyone to bid on the auction items to support their cause, then set up the next act. “Two detectives, a gifted surgeon, and a cowboy,” she said. “Sounds like the beginning of a joke, right? But I assure you, it’s no joke. They are among the finest Port Charles has to offer.” She then introduced Chase, who sang the ‘80s classic “Look of Love” by ABC with Dante, Cody, and Isaiah singing backup and dancing.

Love Machine: (From l.) Cody (Josh Kelly), Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson), and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) backed up Chase (Josh Swickard) on stage.
Tensions Rise
Lucy next introduced Jenz Sidwell and asked for a round of applause for the businessman who had fully funded this year’s Nurses Ball. But the smattering of applause was halfhearted at best, even after Lucy asked them to try harder. During this break in the proceedings, Nina tried to warn Portia that Curtis was suspicious of her, but the doctor revealed that it was too late — her husband now knew everything. Meanwhile, an upset Curtis filled Jordan in on how he wished he’d been wrong about Portia.
Backstage, where she had cornered Lois, Lulu wanted confirmation of her theory that Gio was Brook Lynn and Dante’s son, but Lois argued it was none of her business. However, when Lulu started rattling off all the facts she’d collected about Brook Lynn’s pregnancy and the ensuing efforts to conceal it, Lois insisted that her daughter never knew anything about Gio. She explained that she and her own mother, Gloria, had made the decision to keep the secret. “His whole life is a cover-up,” Lulu cried. “He has no idea where he came from. He is not Camila and Francis Palmieri’s son, he’s Dante and Brook Lynn’s. The only question now is, who’s gonna tell him the truth?” Unfortunately, that decision was taken out of their hands because Gio overheard that whole outburst!

Special Guest: YDE traveled all the way to Port Charles to serenade the audience.
Unaware of everything spiraling out of control backstage, Lucy grabbed her microphone to keep the show going. “We have had such special performances from our friends and neighbors in Port Charles,” she announced. “But right now, our next performer… She was born in Australia. She lives and sings and makes beautiful music in sunny Los Angeles. And we really need to give her a very warm Port Charles Nurses Ball welcome. Ladies and gentlemen… YDE!” The artist then entertained the audience with her 2022 single “Old Her.”
The Truth Revealed
Josslyn was surprised to see Vaughn at the Nurses Ball, and he joked he was keeping an eye on her. Carly interrupted and wanted an introduction, then privately teased her daughter about how cute Vaughn is. ADA Turner interrupted Sonny and Anna’s conversation to remark on how intimate it appeared, and Sonny coldly informed her they were discussing Robin and Stone, the reason the Nurses Ball exists in the first place. Nina happily informed Willow she had been asked to testify on her behalf at the custody hearing, but as a grateful Willow hugged her mother, Nina shot Drew an icy glare.

Stalemate: Lois (Rena Sofer, l.) was desperate to keep the secret that Lulu (Alexia Havins) wants to expose.
Lulu warned Lois that if she didn’t tell Dante and Gio the truth about their relationship tonight, Lulu would do it tomorrow. She then tried to fill Cody in on her progress, but clammed up when Dante joined them, so Cody covered with his usual wisecracks. Lois frantically tried to get her daughter to leave with her immediately, but Brook Lynn refused to miss Chase’s tango with Anna.
Emma found a visibly upset Gio on the patio and asked if he was okay. Declaring himself a violinist who learned everything from his mother, Gio insisted that the show must go on and headed back inside.
Sporting a new gown, Lucy introduced the trio, and Gio began to play as Anna and Chase started their tango, but the young man stopped suddenly and stepped center stage to address the confused audience. “Ladies and gentlemen,” he began, “I just want to do something I’ve never done before. I’m going to dedicate this performance to my parents.” But everyone’s smiles faded instantly when Gio continued, “Brook Lynn Quartermaine and Dante Falconeri. Two people who didn’t want me. Who didn’t claim me! They gave me away and have been lying to me my entire life!” With that, he smashed his violin on the stage in a blind rage in front of the stunned audience and then ran off. Lulu looked ashamed as Dante turned in his seat to face an equally shaken Brook Lynn, a tear streaming down her face.

Shattered: Gio (Giovanni Mazza, l.) stunned the crowd — including Anna (Finola Hughes) and Chase — with his shocking revelation and violent outburst.
