General Hospital’s Eden McCoy Marks 10 Years As Josslyn: ‘What a Special Thing To Be Able To Celebrate’
October 14 was a very special day for Eden McCoy because it marked 10 years to the day that her first episode as Josslyn Jacks on General Hospital aired on television. “10 years of life has happened in this studio,” she marveled in a post on Instagram that featured a carousel of photos backstage at the soap as well as a cake celebrating her anniversary. “What a special thing to be able to celebrate. And an impossible thing to put into words.”
That’s Life
It turned out not to be completely impossible to put her feelings into words, as McCoy remarked on how crazy it was to have grown up on screen in front of everyone. “It’s embarrassing (from 13 years old to probably 17?) and remarkable that most of my life is documented on camera forever, starting at age 12 to now, 22,” she wrote. “My kids will be able to watch me grow up, and when I’m 80 and want to see what I looked like at 15, I can find it.”
Looking back on the past decade of life at the GH studio, the Daytime Emmy Award-winning actress was flooded with memories and can chart her growth both as a person and a performer. “My life has become unrecognizable from the life I had my first day at this job,” McCoy shared, “yet the one thing that is the same is my ability to come to this set and work with people who have become family. Whenever I see old scenes from previous years, I don’t see the scene; I see whatever I was going through in my real life at that time.”

McCoy also expressed her gratitude to everyone who has made it possible for her to live this life both in front of and behind the camera. “This show has given me the opportunity to provide for myself and create the life that I love, and this show is around because of the fans,” she said. “So thank you to anyone who has tuned in the last decade. And the cast and crew, you know who you are. And the team in the booth that keeps this show running. You put the food on my table. And you gave me so many lessons that are not seen on camera. I love you.”
McCoy’s TV mom, Laura Wright (Carly), shared a selfie she took of them at a recent GH fan event in her Instagram Stories and wrote: “Happy 10 years, beautiful!!! I adore you.” She also reposted one of McCoy’s Instagram photos, declaring, “I love you” with a trio of holding back tears emojis. On another pic of McCoy waiting to go on set, she wrote: “Ohhhh, Sweet Girl. Your momma is right there,” referring to McCoy’s late mother, Natasha, who passed away from cancer in 2023.
In the comments of McCoy’s Instagram post, fans and friends chimed in to wish her congratulations on her anniversary. “Awee, happy 10 years, cutie!” wrote Brooklyn Rae Silzer (ex-Emma). Sawandi Wilson (Isaiah) offered three clapping hands emojis, and Kate Mansi (Kristina) and Rory Gibson (Michael) each posted three white heart emojis.
Katelyn MacMullen (Willow) commented: “This girl!” with a flame emoji for good measure. Sydney Mikayla (ex-Trina) used the same emoji when she wrote, “Yes big 10!!! Congratulations.” And William Lipton (ex-Cameron) declared: “So proud of you such a legend!!!!!” followed by five heart hands emojis.
