General Hospital Recap: Willow Schemes, Michael Is Questioned, Jason Makes a Choice, and More

Comments

Several lives were in peril on the February 3 episode of General Hospital. Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) was concerned after Molly (Kristen Vaganos) and Nathan (Ryan Paevey) questioned Michael (Rory Gibson), Nina (Cynthia Watros) had concerns about Willow’s (Katelyn MacMullen) approach to the upcoming visitation hearing, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) was backed into a corner by Cullum (Andrew Hawkes), the news that Anna (Finola Hughes) resurfaced in France had Emma (Braedyn Bruener), Felicia (Kristina Wagner), and Mac (John J. York) making immediate plans to travel overseas, and Jason (Steve Burton) was torn between trying to help Anna or Britt. Get all the details below.

Questions and Answers

At Justine’s office, Diane was prepping Michael for his interview. When Molly entered with Nathan, Diane argued that it was a conflict for her to interrogate her cousin, and Molly explained that she was just there to ask questions and wouldn’t be involved with the case if the D.A. decided to move forward. Asking for privacy to confer with her client, Diane smiled as she told Michael that Molly’s questioning him was a huge misstep on Turner’s part, because his cousin was biased in his favor. Then, they brought Nathan and Molly back into the room, and Michael walked them through his timeline the night of Drew’s shooting.

Once finished and alone again with Diane, Michael said that he felt the questioning had gone smoothly and was glad it was done, but Diane chuckled that it was definitely not over. While she believed he didn’t shoot Drew, she wanted to know if there was anything that could tie him to the shooting and was concerned that Michael’s focus was on the upcoming visitation hearing and not the fact that he was being investigated for attempted murder. The only reason he hadn’t been charged, she added, was that the D.A.’s office wanted to make sure their case against him was stronger than the one against Willow, so they didn’t lose another trial.

Over the Edge

Jason went to the PCPD to tell Dante about the phone call Emma had received about Anna. Calling the French municipality where Anna was being held, Dante confirmed with the police captain that Anna had suffered a mental break and got into an altercation with an officer. Jason told Dante that during his last conversation with Anna, she’d worried that if Britt and Nathan were alive, Faison might be too. But Jason didn’t think there was any way the man survived after he’d shot him and thought he’d convinced Anna that someone was using Faison to distract her. Pointing out that Faison triggered Anna’s PTSD, Dante shared that based on his own experience, when you suffer from acute paranoia, you need someone you trust to lead you back to reality.

Agreeing they needed to get to Anna, Dante said he’d arrange for Jason to go to France, but Jason said he needed to take care of something before he left. Later, Dante called Nathan to his office and shared that Anna had been found in France and was claiming that Faison was still alive. Nathan glanced down when Dante asked if he had any insight about his father, then asked why Dante would even think that. Dante explained that he figured Nathan was looking into his own disappearance and wondered if he’d uncovered anything about his father that Anna may have stumbled upon. Insisting that he was in the dark, Nathan then asked if Emma was aware her grandmother had resurfaced, so Dante shared that Emma was the one who received the call. Relieved that they now knew where Anna was, Nathan said he hoped that they’d be able to help her.

So Close, Yet So Far

After Britt tore apart her room, Cullum arrived and confirmed he’d taken her medication. Explaining it wasn’t a good idea for her to have multiple doses on hand, her meds would now be at the Wyndemere lab, only accessible while she’s working. “That should provide you with the incentive you need to make the progress we need,” he shrugged. Though upset, Britt calmly countered that she needed her meds to function at the hospital and couldn’t be running to Wyndemere for every dose, but Cullum was firm that, as the one she now reported to, he would give her one dose at a time.

After Cullum left, Britt broke down in tears. As she put her room back together, she recalled Jason’s promise to replicate her medicine and muttered to herself that she should have known it was too good to be true. As she was getting ready for work, Jason snuck into her room via the fire escape, wanting a vial of the drug to give to Brick. When she explained what happened with Cullum, Jason declared he was going to Wyndemere to get the medicine himself. Panicked, Britt begged him to leave, worried that the WSB agent was watching her, and Jason promised that he’d find a way to work it out. Later, Cullum returned to Britt’s room, presenting a needle as a gesture of good faith. He insisted on administering the dose himself, leaving Britt no choice but to comply.

The Key To The Future

At Nina’s, Willow filled in her mom that not only was Martin squatting at Drew’s house, but Tracy had let herself in during the snowstorm with a key. Explaining that Martin took the key in exchange for the Quartermaine family heirlooms, Willow wondered if she could somehow connect Tracy stealing a key to Michael so she could use it against her ex in the visitation hearing. But when Nina reasoned that there was no evidence to tie the key to Michael, Willow conceded. Willow then shared that Alexis agreed to represent her in family court and showed her mother the criminal dossier Drew had put together on Jacinda. Nina shook her head in disbelief as Willow excitedly stated that no judge would support a father who made irresponsible choices (like dating a hooker) that were damaging to his children.

Trying to talk sense into Willow, Nina pointed out that family court wasn’t the place to try to settle a score, but Willow snapped back that she didn’t want Michael to walk away with her children. Nina suggested she be the reasonable parent seeking peace, but Willow declared that looking for a peaceful resolution hadn’t worked before, so now she was going after Michael with everything she had. When Nina reminded her that there was no evidence that Michael shot Drew, Willow shouted that she was acquitted because everyone knew Michael was guilty. Nina urged her daughter to trust that she was going into the visitation hearing in a good position and that she’d see her children. Later, once alone, Willow picked up the key, an idea forming.

Flirting With The Enemy

Justine went to Sonny’s house, offering to clarify her role in her office’s interview with Michael, and met his dog, Fizz, whom he’d recently rescued. When Fizz snarled at her, Sonny joked that the dog didn’t like cops and maybe he smelled the PCPD on her. Laughing, Justine asked if that was what she smelled like, and Sonny flirted back that she actually smelled very good. On his way to put Fizz in the kitchen, Sonny remarked that the dog had made the mistake of judging Justine on his first impression, as he had.

Once Sonny returned, Justine told him that, due to her conflict of interest, she personally would not prosecute Michael. Sonny wanted to know if Michael had been charged, but she said she wouldn’t share that information. When Sonny reminded her that he’d been up front with her about everything and questioned if she could say the same, Justine replied that she’d been transparent about everything with him, and if she could prove he’d committed a crime, she’d have no issues prosecuting him. Complimenting her ambition, Sonny noted that Justine had principles, whereas someone with a vendetta against him would manufacture evidence or even go against someone he loved. They playfully fought about her theoretically prosecuting him, and Sonny said that he hoped she’d one day realize they had more in common. “Anything’s possible,” she replied flirtatiously, stepping closer to Sonny, “but don’t hold your breath.”

No False Moves

After meeting with Molly and Nathan, Michael went to his dad’s and told Sonny that Diane believed they were getting ready to prosecute him. Worried that an arrest would give Willow ammunition to use against him in the visitation hearing, Michael conceded that he had to compromise with his ex before he lost his leverage.

Across town, Molly and Nathan updated Justine that their interview with Michael didn’t raise any new red flags, and other than him being near Drew’s house that night, the evidence had not changed. When they wondered if Justine wanted to move forward with charging Michael, Justine replied that they needed evidence before they could even consider that, after the debacle with Willow, and tasked Nathan with finding solid evidence that proved Michael went into Drew’s house and shot the Congressman.

Family Emergency

Tracking down Felicia at the hospital, an upset Emma told her aunt about the phone call she’d received from the police office in France about Anna, and that her grandmother had wanted to warn them that Cesar Faison was alive. Horrified, Felicia looped in Mac, who got himself and her booked on a flight to France before filling Dante in on the situation. The trio debated whether Anna had really had a mental break or if her claim about Faison being alive was a ruse, a signal that she needed help, and Emma demanded to go to France with them.

Next, Mac called Dante to let him know that he, Felicia, and Emma were on the way to France. He also shared with his wife and niece that during his follow-up with the French authorities, they told him that they’d planned on transferring Anna to a mental health facility that evening for her own safety. Felicia worried that if her friend was running a con, she would be trapped unnecessarily in an institution. Mac said he’d get a recommendation for a private hospital from Kevin if it was needed, and the three agreed they had to get to Anna as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, when Jason returned to the PCPD, Dante told him that Mac, Felicia, and Emma were headed to France, and that Anna was being transferred to a mental health facility. But Jason informed Dante that he could no longer go to France because he was needed in Port Charles, leaving the acting commissioner confused by his sudden change of plans.
