General Hospital Recap: Sonny Takes Control, Kristina Ponders Her Future, Curtis to Face Felony Charges

Comments

On the Wednesday, May 27, episode of General Hospital, several characters had to face some hard truths. Sonny (Maurice Benard) had an update for Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Lulu (Alexa Havins) in their search for Rocco (Finn Carr), Kristina (Kate Mansi) got a pep talk from Molly (Kristen Vaganos), Trina’s (Tabyana Ali) attempts to smooth things over for her dad were met with pushback, Ric (Rick Hearst) raced to Elizabeth’s (Rebecca Herbst) side, and Justine (Nazneen Contractor) informed Jordan (Tanisha Harper) and Curtis (Donnell Turner) that he was going to be charged with a felony! Here’s everything that happened.

Brick By Brick

At Pozzulo’s, Sonny told Gio that Rocco and Britt had left town, hoping that his grandson might have insight. But Gio said that Rocco hadn’t confided in him, especially after he broke his brother’s trust by going to Dante. When a guilty Gio worried that he’d pushed his brother to turn to Britt, Sonny assured him that he’d done the right thing by telling Dante that Rocco was in trouble and promised his grandson that he’d take care of finding Rocco.

Meanwhile, Lulu proposed to Dante that they bring in the FBI on a kidnapping charge, but Dante feared that would alert the WSB and put Rocco’s life in danger. They wondered if Britt took off with Rocco because she knew Cullum had connected the dots and decided that they needed to search for their son on their own. Dante confided that Nathan had convinced him to send Rocco away and had been about to ask his father to hide the three of them when Lulu had called him to say that Rocco was missing.

Sonny stopped by and informed Lulu that she was already on Cullum’s radar, so if she and Dante went looking for her son, they’d lead the WSB director straight to Rocco and Britt. Sonny reported that he’d hired Brick to track down Britt and Rocco, and Dante and Lulu agreed that was the best way to go about finding their son.

Prescription For The Future

At Bobbie’s, Kai met up with Emma and shared his concern that the drama within the Ashford family over Curtis and Isaiah’s fight might affect Trina singing in the showcase. After Kai left, Gio arrived and filled Emma in about Rocco and Britt. At first, Emma put the blame squarely on Britt, but Gio proclaimed that he had to have faith in his brother. Emma commended her boyfriend for always finding the positive in any situation, and Gio thanked her for being so supportive.

Across the restaurant, Molly was shocked that Kristina had secretly applied to UCLA’s medical school. Kristina explained how it was her time in the hospital after losing baby Adela/Irene that had inspired her, but she was unsure if she should leave Charlie’s and the Corinthos-Davis House behind to go. When Molly insisted that those weren’t good enough reasons not to pursue a career as a doctor, Kristina admitted she didn’t trust herself to finish med school, considering her track record of never fully committing to anything. The sisters shared a tender moment when Molly said she had faith that the memory of the baby would push Kristina to see her education through.

Family Feud

Trina visited Curtis and Jordan, wanting to get her father’s side of the story about the fight with Isaiah. Curtis explained how he was certain Isaiah was the driver who’d left him and Jordan stranded. He also blamed Isaiah for provoking him. With Curtis’s arraignment now hours away, Jordan told Trina she was sure Justine would see it as a heated argument between the men, and Curtis was likewise convinced he wouldn’t be prosecuted.

After Trina left, Curtis told Jordan that he hated that his daughter was again stuck in the middle between him and Portia. Jordan proposed that since there was no proof that Isaiah was the other driver, they leave the fight and the car accident in the past and focus on the future of the family. Countering that he’d almost lost her because of Isaiah’s actions, Curtis refused to let it go, but Jordan eventually convinced him to move forward.

Opposite this, Justine reviewed Isaiah and Portia’s statements with them at G.H. ahead of Curtis’s arraignment so she could decide whether to prosecute. Recounting the events, Portia said she felt Curtis had goaded Isaiah, and the couple detailed how the damage to Isaiah’s hand left his career in limbo. In the meantime, the hospital was going to need to find another surgeon to perform a complex liver transplant on a young patient, since Dr. Gannon was a specialist, Portia added.

The Blame Game

Later, Isaiah ran into Kai, who was on his way to visit Derek. Isaiah explained that, because of his broken hand, he’d just explained to Derek that the operation was likely going to be postponed unless another surgeon could be found. Frustrated by the situation, Isaiah shouted it would be his fault if Derek didn’t get his liver transplant and wished he’d kept his mouth shut during his argument with Curtis.

Not wanting things to get worse between the family, Trina stopped by her mom’s office after leaving Curtis and Jordan’s house. She was surprised to hear that Isaiah might never perform surgery again due to the injury, but still asked Portia to convince Isaiah to show Curtis some mercy before the arraignment. However, when Portia met up with Isaiah, she decided not to do as Trina asked. Trina heard from Kai about Derek’s surgery plans going awry. Kai put the blame on Curtis for attacking Isaiah, and while Trina defended her father, Kai remained upset, fretting that Derek could die if he didn’t get his transplant.

Just before the couple left for the arraignment, Justine stopped by Jordan’s condo to give her and Curtis a heads-up that Curtis was going to be charged with felony assault and battery.

Green With Envy

Ric rushed to G.H. to check on Elizabeth after hearing that she’d been attacked. Liz assured him that she’d just hit her head when Britt shoved her into the office bathroom, but Ric wanted to press charges. After realizing he was overreacting, Ric confided how much Elizabeth meant to him, and she smiled back that she felt they might be able to make their relationship work this time around. Next, Liz explained how Dante had rescued her, but when she shared that Dante had confided in her that Rocco had been having a tough time, Ric’s ears perked up, clearly jealous over her concern for Dante.

Should Portia have tried to smooth things over between Curtis and Isaiah? Will Lulu be able to sit back and let Brick find Rocco? Is Ric’s jealousy of Dante bound to threaten his future with Liz? Share your thoughts about the latest episode of GH in the comments below.
