General Hospital Recap: Obrecht Slaps Britt, Josslyn and Vaughn Get Caught, and More!
It was time for some long-overdue conversations in the September 12 episode of General Hospital! Jack (Chris McKenna) demanded answers from Josslyn (Eden McCoy) and Vaughn (Bryce Durfee), Jason (Steve Burton) blasted Anna (Finola Hughes) for betraying him, and Lulu (Alexa Havins) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) told Rocco (Finn Carr) about Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) as Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) lashed out at her daughter. Plus, Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Brick (Stephen A. Smith) set Drew (Cameron Mathison) up, Gio (Giovanni Mazza) had bad news for Emma (Braedyn Bruner), and more! Here’s how it all happened:
Busted!
At Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia, Vaughn and Josslyn returned to their cabin from surfing and quickly hit the sheets. In the afterglow, they agreed that everything felt more vivid after narrowly escaping death. Joss wondered what would happen when they returned to the real world, and he reminded her that Brennan couldn’t know about their romance. Just then, Brennan walked in and caught them in bed together! He stepped out so they could get dressed and then appeared far more interested in getting a debrief about the Five Poppies and Britt than he was in the agents’ relationship.
Josslyn explained that when they saw Britt, they hoped to get information out of her, but their cover was blown. Jack revealed that Colette was behind that and wondered why they weren’t killed. Vaughn said they were being kept as test subjects for some lab experiments, and Brennan was stunned when Josslyn revealed that they escaped with the help of Jason Morgan. He yelled that this was supposed to be a recon mission, and after risking their lives and defying orders, they had nothing to show for it.

End of a Friendship?
Carly was surprised to see Jason back in town. He asked to speak to Anna alone, telling Carly he’d catch up with her later. He then demanded to know how long Anna had known Josslyn was a WSB agent. Anna was relieved to learn that Josslyn was okay and admitted she’d known for a few months. She explained how investigating Dalton led her to discover Josslyn was tailing him as well, and Jack brought her in, but she couldn’t tell Jason because it was classified. Anna insisted that she begged Jack to pull Joss out, but he wouldn’t, so she had to send Jason in to protect her.
Jason insisted Anna should have gotten her out of this because she knows how badly the WSB can screw up your life. She countered that Josslyn is an adult now and wasn’t forced to join the WSB, but Jason felt she was at least manipulated into it. Anna assumed Jack saw something in Josslyn and was willing to risk his relationship with Carly. Hurt, Jason expressed how he felt betrayed by Anna, and while she apologized, she couldn’t change anything. She asked if he was planning to tell Carly the truth, but he said he’d promised Joss he wouldn’t. When Anna wondered what had happened in Croatia, Jason coldly told her to go ask her friend Jack before storming out.

Turnabout’s Fair Play
Brick visited Sonny’s office to confirm that he did as ordered, and planted evidence in Drew’s safe to make it look like the million dollars deposited in the late Judge Heran’s bank account came from the congressman. Brick added that he was long gone before the shooting took place. Carly entered and hugged Brick, then revealed that Jason was back and having a private conversation with Anna. Carly also explained that she’d gone to Anna to confess she’d threatened Drew to get ahead of any accusations. Sonny wondered if she was deflecting suspicion, and Brick asked if she was protecting Michael. Carly was certain that Drew was going to pin the crime on Michael so that Willow could get her kids back. Brick offered his assistance, and when Carly said it would be better if Drew had died, he quipped that there was still time for that. Sonny declared that pretty soon it wouldn’t matter, because Drew’s word wouldn’t mean anything with the cops.

Good News, Bad News
At Bad Jen’s, Emma gloated to Gio about getting in good with Professor Dalton, and they toasted to bringing him down. She predicted the exact moment Dalton would enter the cafe, then approached him to offer him a slice of cheesecake. As he updated her on his latest progress, Dalton was impressed by all the work she had done as his assistant and wanted to let her in on a secret. Dalton got a call, and Emma offered her assistance, but he declined and started to leave. She asked what the secret was, and he playfully whispered that the cafe used goat’s milk in the lattes. After he left, Gio burst Emma’s bubble by revealing that Outback had gone missing.
A Close Call
After Obrecht fainted in Nina’s arms, Liz brought her back around. Obrecht was stunned to find her eyes weren’t playing tricks, and Britt was really alive. She wrapped her daughter in a tight embrace, crying with joy, and wanted to know how it was possible. But Britt put it off, promising she’d explain everything later. Dante didn’t think Britt should be here right now, and Nina interrupted their argument to embrace her cousin. When Lulu asked Liz to get Rocco, Britt overheard and asked if “Ben” was here. Lucas finished stitching up Rocco, and Liz came in with a story about a new hospital rule that would keep Rocco in the room a bit longer, and Lucas went along with it. Lulu reminded Britt that her son’s name was Rocco, and Nina urged them not to ruin the moment, suggesting that Obrecht and Britt come home with her. Lulu asked that she and Dante be the ones to tell Rocco about Britt’s resurrection, and Britt grudgingly agreed. Lulu grumbled to her husband that she only went along with letting Rocco learn about Britt because she thought she was dead. Dante wanted them to learn from their mistakes, and she agreed they had to tell him themselves.

After Liz gave Lucas a signal it was safe for Rocco to go, she revealed that the reason for the subterfuge was because “The Britch is back.” Lucas didn’t believe it, but Liz insisted it was true, and knowing her family, anything was possible. Lucas wanted to call Brad to tell him the good news, but Liz grabbed his phone so he wouldn’t be dragged back into Brad’s drama. Liz pointed out that Brad might have been part of faking Britt’s death. Lucas realized that was a distinct possibility and agreed not to rock the boat.
Difficult Conversations
Rocco and his parents arrived home, and Rocco and Charlotte remained worried about Outback. Lulu promised to help the kids find the dog, but first, they had to talk about Britt. Dante revealed that they’d seen her at the hospital, very much alive. Rocco was shocked and then realized she was there while he was getting his stitches, and they’d kept him from her. Lulu said that everyone was overwhelmed, so they all went their separate ways to discuss things as families, hoping he’d understand.
Nina welcomed Britt to her apartment and assured her she could stay as long as she wanted. Obrecht still couldn’t believe her Britta was alive, and Nina asked again where she’s been all this time. Britt again tried to fob them off by saying it was a long story and she was exhausted, but Obrecht demanded answers. Britt told them that she’d been approached about a research project overseas and took it because she didn’t want everyone to watch her die slowly of Huntington’s. She confirmed that being attacked by Heather was real, but her death wasn’t. Obrecht was shaken to realize that Britt was responsible for making her think she was dead. Britt argued she didn’t want her to watch her waste away, so Liesl spat, “Yes. Watching you die in my arms was much better!” Britt claimed she did all of this for her, but Obrecht declared she had just been selfish and tortured the people who love her in the process. She then hauled off and angrily slapped Britt across the face in front of a stunned Nina!

Can Britt get her mother to understand why she faked her death? Will Sonny’s plan to implicate Drew in Judge Heran’s bribery work — or will it backfire? Can Jason and Anna repair their friendship? Will Lulu allow Rocco to have contact with the woman who gave birth to him? Share your thoughts about what’s coming next on GH in the comments below!
