General Hospital Recap: Nina Learns Carly & Valentin Are Sleeping Together!

Comments

On the Monday, June 1, episode of General Hospital, business decisions were made, partnerships were created, and secrets were exposed. Jack (Chris McKenna) dropped a bombshell on Nina (Cynthia Watros), Ric (Rick Hearst) gave Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Tracy (Jane Elliot) legal advice about Deception, Josslyn (Eden McCoy) wormed her way under Pascal’s (Marc Forget) skin, Lucas (Van Hansis) teamed up with Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Laura (Genie Francis), Lulu (Alexa Havins) vented to Carly (Laura Wright) as Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) unloaded on Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), and Joe (Jonathan Bennett) got a lead in a murder investigation. Here’s how it all went down.

Dead Man Walking

In her basement cell, Josslyn crossed paths with Pascal for the first time since the Five Poppies. As he grumbled that it was her fault he no longer had a cushy life at the resort, he inadvertently revealed that she was being held underneath Wyndemere. Josslyn then confronted him with her suspicions that Pascal was involved with Anna’s captivity and her mental breakdown, which the butler confirmed.

As he held her at gunpoint, Pascal taunted Josslyn that she’d be dead as soon as he and his associates completed their business. Josslyn pointed out that Pascal was equally expendable since he knew too much about Sidwell’s operation and he, too, would be killed once he was no longer needed. She pitched the idea of him saving himself by cooperating with the WSB. Pascal scoffed at the idea, insisting his loyalty to Mr. Sidwell would protect him, but Josslyn smirked that he was as trapped as she was. Exiting, Pascal locked Josslyn back in the room, but was clearly rattled by the conversation.

Sneak Attack

Brook Lynn and Tracy asked Ric for advice on a legal loophole to get Sidwell out of Deception. Ric suggested they tell Sidwell that they’d bring their suspicions about his illegal dealings to the FTC if he didn’t divest from the company. That would likely trigger a federal audit, which Sidwell wouldn’t want. Tracy was worried that freezing the company’s assets during an audit would harm Deception, but agreed that convincing Sidwell that they were willing to go that far was their best bet. She and Brook Lynn decided to use the element of surprise to their advantage and confront Sidwell at Wyndemere, but Ric urged them to make sure somebody knew that Sidwell had a motive in case there was an “accident” and something happened to them after the fact. Brook Lynn then suggested they bring Lucy with them, since she not only wanted Sidwell out of Deception, but her presence would make their entrance at Wyndemere much smoother.

Three’s Company

Laura and Sonny revealed to Lucas that Sidwell has been blackmailing them and that, according to Britt, Pascal had cleaned up after Sidwell murdered Dalton. When they asked Lucas if he had info they could use to get Pascal to turn on Sidwell, Lucas explained his tense history with the butler and how that led to Cullum killing Marco. Wanting justice for Marco and to see Sidwell pay for his crimes, Lucas insisted on helping Sonny and Laura bring him down.

Silent Treatment

Nina visited Jack at Turning Woods to give him an injection, but changed her mind about dosing him again. She explained that she was lying to Willow about continuing to drug him, and when Jack surmised that Sidwell was supplying the drugs to Willow, Nina confirmed that it had been Sidwell’s idea to incapacitate Drew. With the drugs wearing off, Jack could speak but barely move, so he pretended to still be locked-in when a nurse — played by Elliott Carr, the brother of Finn Carr (Rocco) — entered.

Once they were alone again, Nina asked Jack if he had a plan, and he requested that she reach out to Carly. Not trusting Carly, Nina refused, pointing out that Willow didn’t even know the whole truth about what happened with him and Valentin. Besides, Sidwell believed Willow was the one drugging Jack and had no idea Nina was involved since Willow was protecting her. Jack then revealed that he needed Nina to contact Carly to get in touch with Valentin because he was hiding at her house — and they were sleeping together! Appalled, Nina realized Carly had been trolling her about Jack’s stroke and demanded to know why Jack wanted to speak with Valentin after they’d tried to kill each other.

Revolving Door

Having agreed they wanted to be together, Carly and Valentin were making out on the couch when Lulu showed up, needing to vent. Valentin hid and eavesdropped as Lulu told Carly that she’d gotten Rocco the fake passport because she’d been planning to run away with her son but was going to leave Charlotte behind with Laura because she didn’t want to drag her daughter on the run the way Valentin selfishly had. When Lulu cried that she was sure Dante blamed her for the mess, Carly encouraged her to make peace with Dante so they could work together.

After Lulu left and Val came back downstairs, he grumbled that Lulu thought he was a bad father, but she wasn’t doing much better with Charlotte. Defending her cousin, Carly said that she didn’t share Lulu’s feelings toward Valentin but understood why Lulu was so overprotective of Charlotte. Then, Nina arrived and demanded to see Valentin.

Trail Of Breadcrumbs

Elizabeth stopped by the PCPD to check on Dante, who revealed that he was having a hard time getting past his anger towards Lulu, especially since she was going to go on the run with Rocco. Mentioning all the ways Lulu had covered up for Rocco and isolated him in the process, Dante wondered if his son left town with Britt because he felt the family would be better off without him, but Liz didn’t believe that had been Lulu’s intention.

Joe interrupted their conversation to give Dante the report from Britt’s room. When Joe questioned the presence of a syringe, Dante speculated that she may have been treating her Huntington’s symptoms and ordered a toxicology test. Since Britt’s car was found in Akron, proof that she’d crossed state lines with a minor, Joe suggested they call in the FBI. Dante covered that because of the family history involved, he was certain Rocco wasn’t kidnapped but ran away.

Returning to Liz in the interrogation room, Dante lamented that he couldn’t give Joe all the facts about Rocco’s case and that the real reason he didn’t want the FBI involved was that it would alert the WSB and Cullum. Dante hoped that Britt had left behind a clue to their whereabouts, and Liz assured him that Britt loved Rocco and would take care of him. Lulu arrived in time to hear Liz tell Dante that when Britt had begged Liz to keep Rocco away from her, she had sounded like a mother desperate to do the right thing for her child. Lulu was troubled by what she overheard.

Meanwhile, Lucas arrived at the PCPD to speak with Dante. Since the commissioner was unavailable, Lucas told Joe that he had information on the murder of Marco Rios, and they should speak with Pascal.
