General Hospital Recap: Jason Searches for Britt, Willow Implicates Michael and More

Comments

The fallout from Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) shooting continued to trickle through Port Charles in the September 5 episode of General Hospital. As Sonny (Maurice Benard) dug for inside intel, Lulu (Alexa Havins) sought out scoop from Portia (Brook Kerr), Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen); and Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) got concerning news about her granddaughter. Meanwhile, Brennan (Chris McKenna) figured out who the WSB leak was, Jason (Steve Burton) had someone waiting for him when he got back to the Five Poppies, and more!

Coffee Talk

Over coffee at Café Cherie with Sonny, Diane half-jokingly asked if she should begin preparing a defense for him, Carly, or Michael. Sonny didn’t think that what happened to Drew concerned him, but Diane worried that the PCPD would be looking at his entire family, given the current animosity between them and the congressman. Changing the subject, Sonny wanted Diane to get him info on Judge Heran’s murder, then filled her in on Drew’s bribery allegation. It was interesting, Sonny noted, that the judge’s body washed up on Pier 55, directly across the water from Spoon Island. “You think that Jenz Sidwell is responsible?” Diane questioned.

As his attorney, Sonny expected Diane to share information about Sidwell, but she countered that it was a no-can-do since Jenz was also a client of her firm. Instead, she advised Sonny to gather intel on Sidwell himself — and quickly, she suggested, before the authorities find the payout in Heran’s bank account and believe it came from Michael.

Talk To Me

At G.H., Michael got an update from Liz that Drew was in critical but stable condition, and was happy to hear that Willow was managing as well as could be expected. Thanking Liz for looking out for Willow, he headed to the 8th floor to have bloodwork done. Meanwhile, across the hub, Willow declined Lulu’s interview request. When the reporter pressed her to speak off the record, looking for the nurse’s perspective on who may have been the shooter, Willow implied that Michael and Sonny might be guilty. Before leaving, Lulu asked Willow to keep her in mind if she ever wanted to share her story officially.

While waiting for his appointment, Michael read Lulu’s Port Charles Press article about who may have shot Drew. Zooming in on the photos of Drew doing body shots off a sex worker from a few months earlier, Michael flashed back to the previous evening, when he’d met the same woman, Jacinda, at the bar. He recalled their conversation about how she’d just returned from a once-in-a-lifetime vacation in Australia and was now broke. Later, when Michael ran into Lulu, he asked how he could find the woman pictured in the article.

From Bad to Worse

Alexis, Molly, and Kristina hoped to get the restraining order suspended so Scout could stay with them. While Molly was gone pleading their case with the judge in person, Kristina warned her mom that bringing Scout to the house was a bad idea, since they were holding Ric captive in the basement. Returning home, Molly updated Alexis that the judge denied their request. And, because of the legal documents Drew and Willow signed when they were together, emergency custody of the tween had been given to Willow. “But I’m the legal next of kin,” Alexis argued. “Willow doesn’t even have custody of her own kids!”

Feeling utterly helpless, Alexis packed up a bag of Scout’s things and headed to the hospital to bring it to Willow. Once alone with Molly, Kristina fretted that Willow was probably going to keep them away from Scout since she’d told her that she didn’t deserve to be in her children’s lives. Molly accused her sister of speaking without thinking yet again and ignored a call from Cody.

Pay to Play

In Portia’s office, she and Nina discussed the timing of Drew’s attempted murder, which took place soon after they’d met for drinks at the Brown Dog. Noting that the police had already questioned Willow as part of their investigation, Nina claimed that she had gone for a walk with Willow in the rain. Reading between the lines, Portia admired how fortunate the quick turnaround was for Nina that Willow went from not wanting to have anything to do with her to, less than an hour later, strolling during a storm. Nina replied that Portia was also very fortunate, since the only people who knew about her private hatred for Drew were Nina, Curtis, and Trina.

Their conversation was interrupted by Lulu, who wanted a comment from Portia about Stella’s arrest. Sharing a canned response, Portia then tried to get Lulu to leave, but the pushy reporter wanted to talk about the conflict between Drew and Curtis as well. After Portia shut her down, Lulu decided that she should probably go to Curtis for comment anyway, which drew a concerned expression from Portia. Shortly after Lulu left, Nina and Portia were interrupted by another knock on the door. This time, it was Jacinda, who demanded more money.

Gone Girl

Felicia informed Willow that she’d spoken with Martin and, based on the legal directives Drew had on file, Willow had been appointed Scout’s legal guardian due to Drew’s incapacitation. Liz invited Scout and Willow to stay at her house. Alexis arrived with some of Scout’s belongings. Explaining the situation with the restraining order, Alexis begged Willow to take good care of her granddaughter. Just as Liz and Willow promised that Scout was in good hands, Felicia approached with the news that Scout had gone missing from the Lila’s Kids end-of-summer sleepover.

Caught In The Act

Fed up with Colette’s insubordination, Brennan had her reassigned to the WSB field office in Algiers. As Anna eavesdropped from the hallway, Colette blasted Jack for having her banished so he could cover up his botched operation and loss of two agents. Entering Jack’s office as Colette exited, Anna demanded, “Would one of those missing agents be Josslyn Jacks?”

Brushing off Josslyn and Vaughn’s disappearance as a glitch that he was handling, Jack stated that he intended to bring Carly’s daughter home safely and suggested Anna focus on the current investigations at the PCPD. He also casually mentioned that Carly had been with him all night, providing Anna with an alibi for both of them. After that comment, Anna questioned Jack’s reason for summoning her to his office. He hemmed and hawed about not wanting to burden her with information she couldn’t disclose, so Anna called him out for using her as a pawn in some game. Vowing to collect a payback at some point, she stormed out.

Once Brennan left his office, Colette snuck in and, while on the phone, attempted to open the black box. When the code didn’t work, Colette complained to the person on the other end that they’d been lied to. She rifled through Jack’s desk looking for anything referencing Professor Dalton, but when she came up empty, Colette ended the call so she could leave the office before Jack returned. But before she could do that, Jack walked in. With a gun in hand, he informed Colette that she would be going to a black site, not Algiers, unless she told him who she was working for.

Saved By The Bell

Tied up back-to-back after their thwarted escape attempt, Vaughn and Josslyn discussed how they missed their chance for her to run. As Joss berated herself for failing their mission yet again, Vaughn beat himself up for putting her life at risk as a new recruit. They agreed they had to find a way out and alert Brennan that there was a mole in the WSB. Later, Pascal told the agents that since they’d given him a fake code for the black box, he’d formulated a plan for honeymooners “Mr. and Mrs. Nash” to tragically be swept away at sea following a boating accident — but someone above him decided that there was still a use for them.

Trail of Breadcrumbs

Having returned to the Five Poppies, Jason asked Pascal if Greta was still a guest at the resort, and the manager offered to deliver a message. As Jason was getting settled into his room, an assassin walked out from behind the corner and shot at him! Jason managed to take Pascal’s minion down, and as they struggled over control of the gun, he shot the assailant. Pulling a room key card out of the man’s pocket, Jason realized he’d been targeted by Pascal. After disposing of the body, he set out for Britt’s room, but when he got there, she was nowhere to be found. While he searched for clues, a piece of paper fell out of a journal: It was a note Britt had left behind with instructions on how to find her. The note led Jason to the lab, where he was shocked by what he found inside!
