General Hospital Recap: Dante Confronts Sonny as Scout Cuts Ties with Danny

Comments

The fighting around Port Charles continued on General Hospital’s Thursday, October 1, episode! Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) clashed when Dante questioned his father’s innocence, Curtis (Donnell Turner) offered to give Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) dirt on Sonny in exchange for a hefty favor, Tracy (Jane Elliot) put the screws to Chase (Josh Swickard), Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) was furious over Michael’s (Rory Gibson) manipulations, Scout (Kayden Brenna Tokarski) cut ties with Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) over his fight with Rocco (Finn Carr), and more. Here’s the rundown.

Hurtful Words

Trina broke the news to Gio that her father was in the hospital after getting involved in an attack Sonny ordered on Sidwell. Stunned, Gio insisted his grandfather was done with that lifestyle, but Trina maintained that Curtis had been clear about what happened — and it appeared Sonny wasn’t out of the mob. Since Curtis had given a statement to the police, Trina wanted Gio to ask Sonny not to kill her father.

Meanwhile, Dante went to Sonny’s house to ask him face-to-face if he’d ordered the attack at Pentonville. Sonny denied being responsible, but Dante didn’t believe him, citing video footage of Sully and Vito at the prison. Insisting he didn’t know why Sully beat up Sidwell and Curtis, Sonny was hurt that Dante wouldn’t take him at his word, and Dante was disappointed that his father didn’t respect him enough to be truthful.

Asking Dante to consider that he may have been set up, Sonny explained that he’d told Vito to instruct Sully to keep an eye out for Sidwell, not hurt him. Scoffing, Dante said he’d believed his father intended to walk away from the business but knew deep down that Sonny would want to finish off Sidwell. As they continued arguing, Sonny asserted that everything he’d done was to provide for and protect his family, but Dante retorted that he didn’t want to deal with being burned by Sonny’s half-truths anymore. Gio arrived just in time to overhear Sonny throw Dante out. “Get out of my house!” Sonny shouted. “I don’t want a son like you!”

Pardon Me

Dr. Roberts told Curtis that there was no reason to keep him at G.H., so he’d soon be transferred back to Pentonville. Tristan then went to the hub, where Willow was waiting for him. Willow tried to use her status as a congresswoman to inquire about Curtis’s condition, but Tristan dismissed her, refusing to divulge patient information, and said she’d have to see for herself.

Willow next went to Curtis’s room, hailing him a hero and offering her assistance. Curtis quickly realized that Willow wanted dirt to use in her war against Michael and said if she could get the governor to pardon his sentence, he’d give her Sonny. As Willow exited, she ran into Trina in the hallway, who wasn’t yet able to see her father because of the prisoner’s visitation restrictions. Willow played the congresswoman card with the guard to allow Trina access. During her visit with Curtis, Trina told her father to do whatever it took to stay safe until he was back at home.

Returning to the hub, Willow strongly suggested that Dr. Roberts keep Curtis at G.H. under observation for a few more days. Though he initially pushed back, Tristan eventually agreed when Willow asked him to do so as a personal favor. “Alright, I won’t discharge him yet. But only because it never hurts to have a congresswoman in my debt,” he smirked.

Manipulation Station

In the Quartermaine kitchen, Tracy confronted Chase about his marriage to Brook Lynn, urging him to file for divorce. Chase replied that he wasn’t ready to give up on his marriage because he still loved Brook Lynn, even though he couldn’t forgive her for the lies she’d told. Tracy called him a hypocrite for all the times he’d forgiven Willow when he refused to forgive his wife for protecting their family. Declaring that he was married to Brook Lynn, not Willow, Chase stormed out… and Tracy muttered to herself, “Not for long.”

Out at the boathouse, Brook Lynn confided to Michael that it was difficult to live in the house with Chase since he’d only moved back as a legal ploy. She wondered if they should legally separate, but Michael felt that would be a mistake since her marriage was essentially over. He suggested instead that Brook Lynn bide her time until Chase and Willow had an affair, then she’d have full custody of Phoebe.

Livid, Brook Lynn pushed her cousin into the lake and accused Michael of deliberately moving Willow back into the gatehouse to push her and Chase together, sacrificing Brook Lynn’s family to get ammo against Willow. Amid the cousins’ fight, Chase arrived at the boathouse and asked Brook Lynn if she was okay. “You know I’m right,” Michael insisted.

Thug Life

Danny waited for Drew to leave for work, then snuck in through the back door to visit Scout. He told his sister about his fight with Rocco over Charlotte, which shocked Scout since Rocco hadn’t mentioned it when they’d talked. Without revealing that Rocco had provoked him, Danny admitted to throwing the first punch. An angry Scout called Danny a thug who was just like his father and was disgusted that he’d backed up Charlotte.

Devastated when his sister told him to stay away from her, Danny left and headed to the mansion, where he told Tracy about his fights with Rocco and Scout. Tracy promised Danny that he and Scout would eventually get over their disagreement and surprised her great-nephew when she took his side in the fight with Rocco, saying she knew he must have had a good reason to throw a punch.

Over at Lulu’s, Rocco tried to evade explaining why he had a black eye but eventually told his mother that he and Danny got into a fight. Furious that Danny was the common denominator in Charlotte and Rocco’s recent troubles, Lulu stormed over to see Tracy. She demanded that someone intervene with Danny because he was out of control.

Meanwhile, Scout stopped by to see Rocco and apologized for Danny. “I know my brother was the one who did this to you and that’s why I told him I never want to see him again,” Scout seethed.

Should Dante have given his father the benefit of the doubt? Can Willow get Curtis a pardon? Will Scout’s opinion of Danny change once she learns that Rocco had provoked him?
