Chad Duell Teases His Return to Television After General Hospital Exit
Chad Duell is teasing a return to television following his exit from General Hospital as Michael Corinthos. The actor revealed that he recently filmed a pilot for a horror-comedy mockumentary called Ghosts Are Real.
Chad Duell Reveals His Next Project
Duell let fans in on his involvement in the project by posting a photo to his Instagram Stories of himself wearing a black leather jacket and gloves, a slight smile on his face as his eyes are hidden behind dark sunglasses. A crew member with a camera moves behind the actor as smoke billows around them. “Pilot in the books,” Duell wrote. “[Can’t] wait to share it with you all 👻🎥”
According to the official Instagram of Ghosts Are Real, the series follows two paranormal investigators and their crew as they investigate some of America’s most haunted locations. The pilot case is titled “The Scooters” and centers around the ghost hunters investigating the supernatural happenings at the home of Harold and Dolores Scooter. Filming wrapped on September 22.
Duell took over the role of Michael Corinthos in April 2010 and won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2015. In November 2024, the actor announced his decision to leave the soap, posting on Instagram, “This wasn’t an easy decision for me, but it feels like the right time in my life.” He aired for the final time in January 2025, with Rory Gibson officially taking over as Michael in May 2025.
If the pilot for Ghosts Are Real is picked up, it would mark Duell’s first television appearance since he wrapped his run at GH. In the meantime, the actor has also been keeping busy recording and releasing new music, dropping his first single, “If You Need Me,” in June of this year.
