General Hospital Recap: Britt Gives Sonny Ammo and Flees with Rocco, Nina Decides Not to Inject Jack

Comments

The Friday, May 22, episode of General Hospital came to a shocking end when Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) provided Sonny (Maurice Benard) with some vital intel moments before she and Rocco (Finn Carr) went on the run together! But before that happened, Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) delivered good news to Felicia (Kristina Wagner), Nina (Cynthia Watros) had a frosty run-in with Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) in Jack’s (Chris McKenna) room, “Nathan” (Ryan Paevey) tried to convince Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) not to stand in Lulu’s (Alexa Havins) way, Kristina (Kate Mansi) supported Molly (Kristen Vaganos), and more. Here’s how it all went down.

Look Who’s Talking

At the hospital, Willow warned Nina not to attract unwanted attention by continuing to visit Jack, lest they both go down for their crimes. Willow wanted to administer Jack’s next dose instead of her mom, but Nina insisted she’d handle it. After leaving her mother, Willow tracked down Felicia to let her know that at Laura’s request, she’d pulled some strings to get Anna transferred back to the private clinic rather than the government facility. Felicia was thrilled by the news, especially since the French police would drop all charges if Anna was medically cleared.

Meanwhile, Cullum visited Jack, who was awake but not speaking, and taunted that being locked in was better than a sentence at Steinmauer for obstruction of justice, but he’d soon be relocated to Turning Woods for long-term care. When Nina entered Jack’s room, she was shocked to see Cullum there and claimed that she was visiting Brennan simply out of common decency, since that man had collapsed in her presence. After Cullum left, Brennan began speaking to Nina. Relieved that he was awake and talking, Nina couldn’t bring herself to inject him again. She disposed of the needle rather than give him his next dose. Meanwhile, Cullum introduced himself to Willow and Felicia and asked where he could find Rocco.

Like Mother, Like Daughter

With the threat of 24/7 surveillance from Dante looming over her, Lulu told Ethan she needed to leave town with Rocco — today. But before they could enact a plan, Lulu received an urgent call from her mother, and Laura then met the pair at the park. Laura revealed that she’d heard from Dante that Lulu was planning to take Rocco out of town and surprised Lulu by saying she fully supported the decision. After all, Laura had done the same thing once to keep her family safe. Promising to take care of Charlotte while Lulu was gone, Laura then asked Ethan to look after his sister. But when Ethan and Lulu returned home, they discovered that Rocco was nowhere to be found. Not only that, but his fake passport was gone.

Escape Hatch

At G.H., Elizabeth spotted Rocco racing through the hall as the teen was on his way to meet with Britt. In her office, Britt told Rocco that she had to flee town ASAP, and he insisted on leaving with her. As Britt argued all the reasons why it wasn’t a good idea, Rocco presented the fake passport his mom had procured and countered that the only way to fix the chaos he was causing to the people he loved was to leave them behind.

Britt refused to let him accompany her, blurting out that she’d only survive a few months without her medication and wouldn’t be able to protect Rocco if Cullum tracked them down. Willing to take the risk, Rocco told Britt he wanted to spend whatever time she had left with her; she brought him into the world, so he wanted to be with her when she left it. Ultimately, Rocco’s plea that he wanted to protect his family from Cullum convinced Britt to let him tag along — on the condition that he contacted his parents once she died.

Liz knocked on the door to Britt’s office, looking for Rocco. Before the nurse entered, Britt handed Rocco her car keys and told him to wait in her car. Liz wondered what Rocco was still doing at G.H., since his community shift had ended hours ago, and their cover story only made Liz more suspicious. Once Rocco left, Liz pressed Britt about what was really going on, and when she spotted Rocco’s fake passport on the desk, she demanded an explanation. Britt lunged for her and snatched it out of Liz’s hands.

Sister Act

Kristina accompanied Molly to G.H. for her final check-up following her surgery. The sisters marveled at how supportive Cody had been throughout her recovery, and Molly thanked Kristina not only for nudging her to pursue things with him but also for sneakily submitting the manuscript to her agent.

Information Dump

At Pozzulo’s, Sonny and Ric deduced that Sidwell was using Deception’s shipments to cover up whatever he was really bringing onto Spoon Island. They concluded that his endgame must be close, considering the man’s escalating movements. When Ric suggested that Sonny and Laura stop waiting for Sidwell to make a mistake and eliminate him, Sonny declared it was time to take advantage of Sidwell’s anger over Marco’s death and push him into making an error. Then, they could take him down.

Laura stopped by to tell Sonny that Lulu was leaving town with Rocco. Believing they were running away because of what happened to Rocco with Dalton and Sidwell, Laura proposed they owed it to their grandson to take Sidwell down once and for all. Sonny then received a call from Britt, who informed him that she was leaving town and wanted to let him know that Sidwell had killed Henry Dalton and his butler, Pascal, helped cover it up.

Do The Right Thing

“Nathan” urged Dante to reconsider letting Lulu leave town with Rocco, pointing out that Cullum was likely going to want to bury whatever Rocco saw on the pier that night by killing the kid. The best move was to help Lulu, not stop her, “Nathan” insisted, and Sonny could easily place Lulu and Rocco somewhere safe. When Dante groused that assisting Lulu to go on the run went against his morals as the police commissioner, “Nathan” pointed out that he’d already crossed a line by destroying the evidence. Was losing his job or mourning his son going to be harder to live with?

Alone, Dante was mulling over everything Nathan had said when Lulu called him with the news that Rocco was missing — and so was the fake passport she’d gotten for him. Since Lulu knew Rocco’s last location before he turned his phone off was G.H., Dante raced to the hospital. In Britt’s office, Dante found Liz trapped in the closet. Elizabeth explained that Britt had locked her up after she’d found the fake passport, and suspected that Rocco and Britt were leaving town together.

Rearview Mirror

Out in the hospital parking lot, Britt stomped on her and Rocco’s phones so no one could trace them, then drove over them with her car for good measure as she peeled out of the parking lot.
