General Hospital Recap: Britt and Cassius Clash as Curtis and Jordan Speed Toward Disaster!

Comments

The Tuesday, April 7, episode of General Hospital celebrated the grand reopening of Charlie’s Pub, with multiple characters literally on a collision course by the end of the hour! Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) turned to Charlotte (Bluesy Burke) to blow off steam; Lulu (Alexa Havins) lied to Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) about Rocco’s (Finn Carr) injury then panicked when the wound appeared to be infected; Jordan (Tanisha Harper) planned a romantic night out for Curtis (Donnell Turner) while Portia (Brook Kerr) and Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) had a romantic night in; siblings Cassius (Ryan Paevey) and Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) bickered over their father’s final project; Lucy (Lynn Herring) shared her plan to regain control of Deception with Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton); and Kristina’s (Kate Mansi) family and friends came out for the reopening party at Charlie’s Pub, which featured a performance by Trina (Tabyana Ali) and Gio (Giovanni Mazza). Keep on reading to find out how that all led up to a shocking car accident!

Wine O’Clock

Over a glass of wine at the Quartermaine house, Brook Lynn told Lucy that she and Chase would be fostering baby Phoebe, then brought up her concern that it took months for paperwork regarding a Deception shipment to come across their desks. Lucy tried to deflect, but Brook Lynn pushed that it was bad business and that she was worried that Sidwell was getting deeper and deeper into their company. Lucy acknowledged that she’d made a big mistake by allowing Jenz to work with Deception and was trying to correct it by playing to his massive ego as he dated both her and Ava. Lucy hoped that Ava would ultimately make Jenz pick one woman over the other, then get furious when he refused and lash out at him. Then, as Jenz dealt with the mess caused by Ava’s wrath, the Deception ladies could swoop in to take their company back. It was clear that Brook Lynn didn’t seem so confident about her colleague’s plan.

Rush Hour

Alexis dropped off Danny at the gym (because he didn’t want to join her at the opening celebration for Charlie’s Pub) and then took off once Charlotte met him there and confirming that she would bring Danny back home later. Once they were alone, Danny told Charlotte that after he’d stormed out of Sonny’s house, he overheard Sonny and Ric saying that Jenz Sidwell was responsible for what happened to Jason. Danny thought that if he could take down Sidwell, it would help Jason go free, but Charlotte smirked that none of the law enforcement agencies in the world had been able to do that. Groaning that he knew that, Danny stated that he’d try to help his dad on his own, since Sonny would just shut him down. Frustrated, Danny said he needed to blow off some steam because he felt stuck and wanted to race toward something, fast. “Well, it’s a good thing I have a car,” Charlotte smiled.

In The Dark

Dante stopped by Lulu’s house to ask about Rocco’s hand, having heard about his kitchen mishap from Elizabeth. When Dante noticed that his son seemed oddly quiet, Rocco said he was just worried about Danny. Lulu reminded her son how strong Jason was (her words having a double meaning since they were keeping a secret from Dante), and Dante agreed that Jason would get through the situation. Dante tried to cheer Rocco up by offering to take him to the party at Charlie’s Pub or hang out to play video games, but Rocco said he’d probably go to bed early, and Lulu encouraged Dante not to miss Kristina’s big night. After Dante left, Lulu changed Rocco’s bandage and noticed that his hand was red and he had a fever, indicating that his wound was infected.

Bright Futures Ahead

Curtis and Jordan looked over the vision board Trina put together for the baby’s nursery at Portia’s house, which Stella wanted the whole family to collaborate on. Jordan wondered if Stella was going to decorate a room for the baby at their apartment as well. Jordan said that for the sake of family unity, she didn’t mind the crew descending on the apartment, since Curtis was important to her and his family was important to him. As they spoke about their future together, Jordan vowed that she wasn’t going to let work consume her life the way she had the last time they were together. Then, she surprised Curtis with hard-to-get reservations for a romantic dinner.

Meanwhile, at the cabin, Isaiah and Portia had a romantic night in. As they spoke about the family-decorating project, she sighed that Curtis’s family could be a bit intrusive, and she was glad they had the cabin to retreat to and be alone. Fearing her baggage was too much for Isaiah to handle, Portia promised she wouldn’t blame him if he decided to leave her, but he pledged his commitment to their relationship, and they made love. The couple was in bed together when Lulu called Isaiah, asking him to make a discreet house call to treat Rocco’s infected wound. He left Portia with the promise that he’d be back later.

Sibling Rivalry

“Nathan” went to Britt’s office to talk to her, and when she claimed she was too busy, he told her she needed to make time because she was in a lot of trouble and he was there to help. Calling him out for only caring about himself, Britt addressed “Nathan” as Cassius, and the siblings bickered about Britt’s lack of effort in completing their father’s final project. It was revealed that Cassius and Britt had first met two years ago, and he was the one who convinced Cullum and Sidwell to save her life and give her access to the drug that’s kept her Huntington’s in check. Cassius warned Britt that if she didn’t stop causing problems and complete the prototype, he wouldn’t protect her any longer.

Britt then recalled how, when she’d woken up in Croatia and saw “Nathan” sitting next to her bed and had been sorely disappointed when she got to know the “pale imitation” of her late brother. Cassius spat back that Britt should be grateful for him securing the medication that prevented her from being a vegetable, and the siblings bickered about how Britt had been lying to everyone — especially James — for months to keep his secret. Accusing Cassius of walking in their father’s footsteps, Britt grilled him about why he didn’t walk away from the project when Faison was killed. Cassius revealed he wanted the money and power — and maybe to save his ungrateful sister’s life. At that, Britt begged him to convince Cullum and Sidwell to hand over her medication and let her walk away.

Instead, Cassius chastised Britt for attempting to run off with her “automaton boyfriend,” and chuckled that with Jason in a prison cell somewhere, she had no one to turn to but him. Reminding her that he was the only one who could save her, Cassius advised Britt to do what he said, starting with convincing Sidwell that she’d learned her lesson and would complete the project. Adding that Britt needed her meds because her hands were shaking, Cassius suggested they go to Wyndemere so she could beg Sidwell for mercy — and Britt professed that she did need to see Sidwell so she could tell him it was Cullum who’d murdered his son.

Cassius thought it was ridiculous that Cullum would kill Marco, so Britt explained that Marco had gotten her the medication to be reverse-engineered, and her theory was that Cullum found out and tracked her to the pier through texts on Marco’s phone. If she told Sidwell, he’d take out Cullum. Cassius snapped that would create a bigger problem for Britt since the experimental medication came through Cullum’s WSB connections, and her best bet at staying alive was to finish the prototype. He then ushered Britt out of her office to take her to Spoon Island.

Up In Lights

Sonny congratulated Kristina on the grand reopening/open mic night of Charlie’s Pub. Emma gave Gio a pep talk before he played guitar as Trina’s backup, and Kai and Josslyn did the same for Trina. Ahead of their performance, Gio and Trina shared with one another how nervous they both were, and he promised that they’d get through it together. Michael and Jacinda were next to arrive. Jacinda complimented Kristina on how great she looked in the outfit put together from the Crimson closet, and Kristina thanked her brother for helping her renew the liquor license.

Alexis showed up with a gift from Molly, who was unable to attend since she’d just had surgery, and the attorney then apologized to Jacinda for how hard she’d been on her during her testimony at Willow’s trial. Accepting the apology, Jacinda looked at Michael and said it all worked out in the end, and Michael then saved Alexis from needing to make another apology by declaring that things were good with him as well.

Dante got to the pub just as Gio and Trina were ready to perform and was thrilled to hear that his son was going to be playing guitar. Dante called Brook Lynn to tell her the news, so she finished her glass of wine and headed to Charlie’s. Next, Kristina took the stage to thank everyone who assisted her in reopening the pub and introduced Gio and Trina as the first act in the new open mic night. As Trina sang, Kai proudly filmed his gal pal, while Kristina shot a wistful look in Jacinda’s direction. Meanwhile, as she drove them to dinner, Jordan took her eyes off the road nuzzle with Curtis, and when she turned her head back around, she spotted another car heading straight toward them! The screeching of tires could be heard as Jordan desperately swerved the vehicle to try to avoid a head-on collision.
