FOX Renews STAR
FOX has given a season 2 pickup to STAR, the newest nighttime drama from EMPIRE creator Lee Daniels. While not the ratings juggernaut of EMPIRE, the soapy drama pulled in respectable ratings for its freshman season. The sudser, focusing on the trials and tribulations of an all-female singing group, stars Queen Latifah and Benjamin Bratt. EMPIRE returns to its Wednesday night timeslot that STAR occupied on March 22.
