Crystal Chappell’s Show

Comments

Soap Opera Weekly: Do you keep in touch with Daniel Cosgrove (ex-Bill)?
Crystal Chappell: Danny is not a keep-in-touch kind of guy. I left a couple of messages for him after his third daughter was born, and I got a note from the family telling me about [his daughter] Ruby, but no. He’s off in L.A. We joked with him before, he’s off to be a big star, so he doesn’t have time to fool with people anymore. That’s the life of an actor, though. You work together and you get oddly intimate quickly. You end up doing love scenes, and then you move on to another job. That’s the way it is.

Weekly: Do you have any close actor friends at GL?
Chappell: Beth Ehlers (Harley) and I are friends. I had her over with her boys last night for dinner. I love my castmates. Michael O’Leary (Rick), Frank Dicopoulos (Frank), Kim (Zimmer, Reva) and I have been hanging. I’ve been loving working with Justin. He’s wonderful.

Weekly: Does he rehearse?
Chappell: We run lines and then it’s just sort of a free-for-all. Whatever happens….But that’s what I like about this genre, you never know what’s going to happen in a scene. We’re not that measured or planned. It’s good.

Weekly: Was it fun having your husband, Michael Sabatino (ex-Vince; ex-Lawrence, DAYS), back on the show (as lawyer Vince Russo)?
Chappell: I loved it. He’s one of the best actors I’ve ever seen. He’ll make things happen. He’s got a life force in him that’s huge and strong.
